"So, Soaran?" Eregon began.

"Yes, Eregon?"

"How do you feel about Myribel?"

"How do you mean?"

"You know exactly what I mean, Soaran."

"Well, she's certainly quite cute. And she's become a terrifying force when it comes to magic. Personally, I would not be opposed to her being a noble."

This was the conversation these two had while Karina, the Knight, and I all slept. Hyperjump left the Gate as their conversation ended, but they opted to leave us sleep until we had landed.

Karina woke up first just as the Hyperjump landed, followed by the Knight moments after. She opted to carry me back to the Palace. Her reasoning, as I would find out later, was, "She's just so cute when she sleeping."

I woke up early in the evening, Princess Anna in my arms. Looking around, I saw that I was home, home in the Palace. I sat up carefully, trying not to wake the Princess, but that failed miserably.

"Mowning, Sissy." She said, yawning and rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

"It's evening, Princess. Come on let's go for a walk, shall we?"

Anna nodded. We hopped off the bed and walked, hand in hand, to the common room. Once there, we were greeted by the Queen and Mother. They wrapped us in their arms, thankful that I had returned safely. If only things could be so easy.

My Brothers and Father had been busy dealing with riots in the slums. The attack half a year ago had destroyed half the already old housing and infrastructure there, and the Royal Family were unable to do anything about it as their hands were tied with the rising Xostroy threat. Anna, Karina, Soaran, and I were taken to school by Airship.

I could see the destruction, and I knew that the most the Royal Family could do was to send guards to the Slums to both keep the peace and keep wild animals out. There were tents set up in clearings for shelter, placed there by the Guards. Security had increased considerably at the Academy too.

We were greeted by the Assistant Headmaster as we entered the school, as well as the older students. My sister was waiting there too.

"Little Sis!" She yelled. "Over here!"

I tried to ignore her, but she came to me, scooping me into her arms.

"I missed you soooooo much!" She said. "I heard you left to another system after the attack and, like, I was so worried, ya know?"

"Thanks, Sis. I'm fine."

She put me down and went back to her friends. I sighed deeply, wanting to forget about Aya. Soaran took my hand and pulled me along.

"Come on, Myribel. We have to get to orientation! It's in class 1-H, just below the Skydeck here."

"Wha? Wait. Are we in the same class?" Soaran nodded.

The other two were in the same class, but it was Class 1-A.

"S-Soaran! Slow down! I'm slower than you are!"

"Just use your wings, silly!"

I blinked a couple times. Right, my wings. I lifted up into the air, holding onto Soaran's hand. The other Winged students shot passed just overhead, and it was only then that I saw the true scale of the Academy. There were thirteen years, from ages five to eighteen, here at the Academy, and twenty-six classes for each year. And that was just main classes alone. The Academy also featured a Skydeck, Skydock, a massive arena, and various facilities. The halls themselves were massive too, having enough room for the winged students to fly, without issue, between classes and walkways on every floor wide enough to house lounges every so often.
