Happy Reading!! :) x

"You've gotta stop it with the rock throwing!" I angrily yelled at Alex.

"Come down and I might as well stop." He yelled back.

Cursing under my breath, I shut my windows closed and put on a robe. When I went out of my room, Isaac was just about to open mine.

"I heard windows banging." He said.

I sighed. "It's Alex' way of waking me up. Apparently, he wants to talk."

Isaac patted my back. "Good luck. Don't forget to choose wisely, baby sis!"

Sticking my tongue out at him, I wasn't aware of my surroundings and so I ended up bumping my toe on a pointy corner. I cursed under my breath while Isaac laughed at my clumsiness. All I wanted to do was sleep honestly. I was cranky as heck when I lacked sleep.

Alex shifted from one leg to another when I came out of the front door. He scratched the back of his neck nervously and sheepishly grinned at me. I gave him a questioning look as I crossed my arms. I was still angry at him for what he did but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't miss him around.

"Okay." He sighed. "Hear me out."

I motioned for him to go and he sucked his breath.

"It wasn't what you think it was." He started. "The girl was drunk and I was sitting on the kitchen counter. I was drunk too but I was fully aware of everything. I got a bottle of bear and chugged it down when the woman climbed on my lap. She started touching me but I swear to you that we never kissed or anything like that. I shoved her away the moment I got to my senses." He looked so vulnerable and sincere. Who wouldn't believe him?

"Well, she was on you for quite a while." I reasoned out.

He looked nervously cute to be honest. "I honestly thought it was you. She had the same color and length of hair as you. Everything was blurry for me so I couldn't quite see." He muttered. "When I realized it wasn't, I pushed her away. I'm sorry if it took pretty long for me to figure it out."

I was quiet for a while, processing everything he had just said. By then, all my anger for him suddenly faded away. Basically, I took everything wrong and realized that I should've listened to his side of the story before assuming things. I guess that's what heartbreaks can do to you. It's hard for me to trust people nowadays.

Alex looked bothered at the fact that I wasn't saying anything. I could see buds of perspiration forming on his forehead. His hands were shaking a little as he held the bear and chocolates.

Despite his kind gesture, my feelings for him had already faded away. I was afraid and so I barely paid attention to it. My feelings for Alex disappeared when I was reflecting on everything in the shower. I liked Alex but I preferred him as my best friend slash body guard. Someone who'll always be there for me when I was down. I just didn't see a future for us together.
