Heyo! If you're wondering what happened between Hayley and Nate's meeting, it'll come in the next chapter!

Happy reading!!

"So what did she say?" Nate asked as we walked to the canteen.

Being with Nate made me feel awful especially because I know for a fact that later on, all of this will be over. Why am
I sad about it? Sigh, I don't know. I guess I'll miss the idiot. I also did want to tell him right there that there wouldn't be a need for this whole fake relationship to continue but I never had the guts to.

I suddenly remembered that he'd be staying in my place for a couple of nights. Stupid stupid stupid. How could I forget that?! Hold up.. That wouldn't be a problem really. He'll just stay in Jake's house.

"She told me to meet you in the parking lot after school."

He stopped walking, pulling me right with him. "She what?!"

"Parking lot. After school."

"Yeah I know.. But why? And didn't I tell you to only talk to her about me.." He rubbed his temples, clearly furious.

"I did! She told me to tell you that."

He sighed. "I don't know what to say."

I looked at him weirdly. How can he not know what to say?! He should be freaking grateful. "You're supposed to be jumping with joy, Hadley. She obviously wants you back."

We continued walking but stopped again when he pulled me into a hug. A really tight warm grizzly bear hug which no one can ever resist. I stayed still for a while, absorbing his fruity smell. I awkwardly wrapped my arms around him and we just stayed in that position for what felt like eternity.

"Why are you hugging me?"

"Don't act as if you don't like it." That made me push myself away from him and his cockiness. "When she takes me back, I probably won't need you anymore. But that doesn't mean that I won't miss you and your big mouth."

"So.. This whole thing is done huh.. The fake thing." I avoided eye contact with him while saying that.

"That's about right! Are you gonna miss me?"

Yes.

"No."

I could feel him smirk. But I ignored it. "What if she doesn't take you back?" I asked, playing with my fingers.

He shrugged then furrowed his brows. "Why are you asking that?"

"Curious."

"Curiosity kills the cat!"

"So?"

He rolled his eyes. Hey, that's my thing! "You suck the fun out of everything."

I couldn't help but notice how bubbly and kind he was. Maybe it was because Hayley finally noticed him or some sort. I didn't know but I liked this side of him rather than his usual asshole self.

I stuck my tongue out. "But to answer your question," he added. "That's for you to find out."

"I don't get it."

He shrugged and unleashed his boyish smile. Damn, he should stop doing that. Not really but you know what I mean..

After my last class, which was calculus, I checked my phone and received three text messages.

"Hey girlie! I'll pass by your crib later!" That was from Cassie.
