An endless life in the Glade

Chapter 03

I woke up feeling actually calm and nice.
The guys already left the homestead, so I was alone laying down and cuddling my pillow.
After some time, I stood up and searched for Newt or Alby.

"Hey, Newt?"
I said, approaching the guy.

"Hi, good morning, Y/N."
He said while watering flowers.

"Good morning, I got a question."
I told him.

"Ask me."

"I need new clothes. How can I get them?"
"Oh, they come every month with the supplies for each of us.
A special box."

"So I got one right now?"

"Yep."
He said, finally looking at me.

"Can u bring me that?"

"Sure."

Newt left everything unfinished in the gardens and went to bring my box.

"I'LL PUT IT IN THE HOMESTEAD SO IT WON'T GET DIRTY."
He screamed and turned towards me, walking now backward.

I gave thumbs up, and then he continued walking.

"Oh hey, Y/N."
Alby said, approaching me.

"Hey Alby, what should I do today?"

"You could help me  cook something."

"Let's get straight into it."

__________Later on__________

Newt finished his work in the Gardens, and he already tried our special food for today.

Newt:" It's delicious guys, thanks for that meal."

Y/N:" No problem, I'll go to the homestead."

Alby:" Alright, see you soon."

I walked away excited about the special box Newt told me of.
In less than a minute, I reached the homestead.
Wow, the box was bigger than I thought.
I opened it and found those things inside: a notebook, a pencil, 10 pairs of clothes, shoes which fit perfectly to me, hairbrush, a toothbrush and a toothpaste, tampons, a book with instructions to build and a foto.
There was a foto of me and Newt, which was most likely before the maze.
I looked around the room and I saw two opened boxes, one is Newt's and one is Alby's.
What could that picture mean?
I organized the stuff that arrived, okay most of them cause I'm a lazy person and left the homestead with the foto in my hands.

"Newt, Alby." I shout out and run towards them.

"Look at this picture."
I said and showed the foto.

"It was in my special box."

Newt:" How is that possible?"

Alby:" So you two knew each other before the Glade?"

Y/N:" That's what it looks like."

Newt:" Well, it's mysterious."

Alby:" No shit."

We started laughing.

Newt:" You Shank."

Y/N:" I also got a book with construction to build."

Newt:" I got one with medical treatments."

Alby:" I got one with recipes. Isn't that cool?"

Y/N: "Of course, now we are going to know what to do."

Newt:" I have an idea, we should all read all books so we are 100% prepared for anything and each new Glader has to do that too."

Alby:" Great man, we will all start with the ones we got.
______ Some hours later ____

We were all relaxing in the homestead reading our books.

Y/N:" It's very warm today. "

Newt:" Wanna go swim?
Alby:" Yeah, I guess there is a lake in the deadhead."

The boxes had a pair of swimming clothes for all of us.
I left the homestead to give the guys some space to dress up.

Newt:"Y/N, you can come now."
Soon, they left for me to get dressed.

I stepped out of the homestead and walked with the guys towards the Deadheads.

Alby:" You guys looked like a couple on that picture. Maybe you used to be one."
I immediately started blushing.

Newt:" You think so?"

Alby:" I do. It seems like it."

Newt smirked at me as our hands brushed against each other's.
He took my hand in his holding it tight.

Alby:" There is chemistry between you two."

We finally reached the lake, and Newt soon let go of my arm.

We all jumped in the lake, which was surprisingly deep.
It was a warm, sunny day so we had to swim a bit.
I didn't expect it, but we all could swim pretty well.

Alby:" Guys, I forgot my sunglasses, I can't see without them.The sun is too shiny. I'll be right back."
And so he left.

Newt turns towards me.
He comes closer hand holds me under the water.
My legs around his waist.

Newt:" You think we used to be a couple?"

Y/N:" Yeah, I do."

Newt:" I hope we were."

Y/N:"Why?"

He came now even closer while he looked at my lips.

Alby:" guys, Guys , GuYs, GUYSSS. I feel the tension between you two, but you could wait till you get to know each other better. Don't rush it."

We quickly got apart from each other, and Alby jumped in.
I looked at Newt and found him staring at me.

Alby:"We should read the books before another Greenie shows up. I'm pretty sure someday everyone will have a job to do."

Newt:" Yeah, you are right, probably."
