"'X' marks the spot where we fell apart, he poisoned the well, I was lyin' to myself, I knew it from the first old fashioned, we were cursed, we never had a shotgun shot in the dark! You were drivin' the getaway car, we were flyin', but we'd never get far! Don't pretend it's such a mystery, think about the place where you first met me!" Saige and Belly were singing at the top of their lungs on the way to Cousins.
The Conklins have been going to the Fisher's beach house for as long as Saige can remember. Summer never really starts until they're there. The kids spend the summer at the beach, drinking, partying and laughing. Saige has always loved the beach house, and the people there. Susannah has been like her second mom and she loves her like one. Jeremiah and Saige are like brother and sister, and Jere and Steven are always getting in shit. Conrad and Saige are bests friends, and she loves him, more than anyone knows, maybe even more than she knows.
"Could you two stop!" Steven, her twin, groaned from the back seat.
"Yeah girls, turn the music down." Laurel, their mother, agreed. Saige sighed and turned the music down. Ever since Belly and Saige starting drifting from each other, Taylor Swift seemed to be the only thing they had in common. Ever since the girls were little, they would blast T-swizzle (much to their mothers dismay) and dance around together. Saige missed those days, when everything was simple.
"Thank you Sai. Also, I want you guys to help out more this summer. Like, don't just leave your dishes in the sink, load them into the dishwasher. And not just your own dish Steven." She turned to Steven.
"What? But I-" Steven tried arguing, before getting cut off.
"I want you to be good houseguests."
"Mom, Susannah has people that clean doesn't she?" Laurel hit the back of his head as Saige watch from the rearview mirror and tried to stifle a laugh.
"Steven!"
"OW!" Steven exclaims. "Alright, Alright, fine."
"Just be considerate and act like I raised you right. Steven and Saige, that means don't stay out too late."
The twins groan. Of course, giving us a curfew on summer break. Saige thought, annoyed.
"Mom! Why!" Saige complained.
"We're too old for a curfew!" Steven argued.
"Wait what about me? Why don't I have a curfew?" Belly asked. Like she has someplace to be. She can just stay with the moms as usual. If she comes anywhere it'll be a shitshow, I just know it. Saige thought.
"What do you need a curfew for? You don't go anywhere." Steven was right, for once, in Saige's opinion.
"Yeah, sorry to tell you this Belly Button, but you don't really have a social life. Ha! loser." Now it was her turn to get smacked. "Ow! Sorry! Jeez, take a joke."
"Don't be jackasses you two! Belly, we'll talk about it when something comes up." Their mother said.
"Oh and don't forget Sai, you promised me you'd take me driving." Belly reminded her sister.
"Belly, I told you I'd take you." Laurel actually sounded kind of dissapointed.
"Yeah you're too judgy." Belly mumbled, earning some laughter from her older siblings.
"Excuse me?!" Laurel turned to Belly.
"Yes, I'm sorry." Belly laughed.
