"How was your walk last night?" Laurel questioned Saige the minute she came into the kitchen that morning.

"It was good? Why?" Saige grinned, reminiscing on her encounter with her new boy from the night before.

"Well I went to the Club with Susannah earlier this morning and when one of the ladies there heard my last name, she said that her son had met a girl with the same one last night. He apparently couldn't stop talking about her." Laurel smirked and took a sip of her coffee, watching her daughter's face turn red.

"Oh yeah, I met a guy on my walk, so what?"

"Well what's his name? Is he cute?"

"His name is Will and since when do you have such an interest in my love life, or my life really?"

"Oh common sweetie, I'm your mother" Laurel laughed, and Saige noticed that her eyes were slightly red.

"Mom are you joking?! Are you high right now!? It's 10 in the morning!" Saige exclaimed.

"Oh honey, it's fine, it's the fourth of July and we're at the beach house, I can have some fun! Anyways, I'm glad that you don't like Conrad. When we got here I was a little scared you did and I just didn't want Belly to assume the same thing because, well, you know. It would just break her heart. But it's obviously not like that because you have this new boy, Bill and Conrad has that Nicole."

"First of all, It's Will  and how do you know about Nicole?"

"Conrad had her over yesterday. She was really sweet. I don't know why you don't like her. Oh and don't tell Susannah, but I think she spent the night." Laurel chuckled and walked away.

"You're fucking joking." Saige mumbled to herself. She was furious. Conrad gave her all that bullshit about being sorry and how "he wasn't thinking" with Nicole when all along, she was there in their house, in his bed. Unfuckingbelievable.

"Oh Saige? Could you set the guest room up for your father and his girlfriend?" Laurel called from the other room.

"I still don't know why you invited Dad's girlfriend. I don't know why you invited Dad for the matter." Saige made her way to the living room where Laurel was sitting.

"The husbands always come up for the fourth."

"But he's not your husband anymore."

"Ex-husband, whatever. Tradition is tradition."

"Okay but, the girlfriend?"

"Your dad wanted us all to meet her. And her name is Victoria. They'll be coming anytime soon so go get the room ready."

"Ugh fine." Saige got up and headed up the stairs. At least their room is beside Belly's and not mine, Saige thought to herself, slightly grateful..until she saw that Conrad was already in the guest room.

"Oh, hey." He said awkwardly when he noticed the girl's presence.

"Hey. Do you need help in here or anything?"

"No, no, it's fine. I've got it."

"Well it's my Dad, so I feel like I should at least make the bed or something." Saige chuckled awkwardly. Why did it have to be like this between them? One little argument and their whole relationship had been ruined. They could barely be in the same room together.

Saige made her way over to the bed and attempted to tuck the sheets in, but she wasn't doing so well. Conrad noticed, and laughed.

"You've got to fold the bottom sheet at a 45 degree angle if you want tight corners." Conrad smirked and leaned against the door frame. Saige attempted again at doing it "the right way" when Conrad insisted it was wrong, once again.
