Monty waited patiently, leaning his elbows against the catwalks and staring at nothing in particular. He had been silently preparing for Freddy to come through the door and retrieve his hat. The more Monty thought through his plan, the more hesitant he became. Was he going too far?

He sighed and glanced at the bucket thoughtfully. Freddy was a big guy. There's no way a few plastic balls are going to hurt him, right? He jumped at the sound of the entrance to the golf course open. He shook in anticipation as he waited for the bear to get in proper position. He quietly rushed to the button and waited for the familiar metal footsteps.

Once he heard the target, he pressed the button swiftly and rushed to the edge of the catwalks and watched his handiwork, only for him to freeze in his spot.

Bonnie was approaching. He was glancing and eyeing his surroundings in hopes of seeing Monty. When he saw nothing, he turned and sighed in relief at the sight of the hat further ahead. Monty glanced at the splash bucket and realized it wasn't moving. They prank wouldn't work.

Although disappointed his plan had failed, he was relieved Bonnie wouldn't be caught in the trap instead. He called the bunny's name and hurried down the catwalks to him. When he caught sight of the gator, his arms crossed, and he gave him a cold look of disdain. The gator tensed and lowered his head in shame. He didn't care when Freddy was disappointed in him, and he was used to Chica or Roxy being angry with him... but seeing Bonnie look so disappointed, it hurt so much more than the others. The gator took off his hat and held it at his middle in surrender. The bunny finally spoke up.

"You've been tormenting Freddy, haven't you?" He asked expectantly. The gator sighed but nodded. Bonnie scowled.

"Monty, that's not cool. You should know better, I would never have expected this from you." He lectured bitterly.

"But, he's not a good leader! I-I... why does everyone respect him?! Why is he in the band??" He snapped. Bonnie stared in amazement at the audacity of his comment. He furrowed his brows, and his ears dropped in anger.

"You need to respect him! He is your leader, and he has done so much to keep us safe and running!" He scolded. Monty rolled his eyes.

"Why do you defend him?! He's clueless! How is he better for the band than me?!" Monty questioned. Bonnie glared at him.

"None of you are 'bad for the band'! He's just in it, and you're not! That's not his fault!"

Monty growled in frustration. "You're just biased because he's your 'lover boy' or whatever! What do you even see in him?!" Monty snapped. He almost regretted his rebuttal as Bonnie face contorted into a horrified look, and his hand flew over his mouth. Monty mentally face palmed himself as he remembered Bonnie wasn't supposed to know.

"Y-you know about that...?" He muttered and backed away. Monty couldn't control his temper at this point and kept going. He was so far gone that he couldn't even hear the sound of metal breaking above them.

"Everyone knows! We even got a picture!" He boasted cruelly.

"Why do you think we're pickin' on Freddy?! He knows we know, too!" He pointed a finger at Bonnie, who remained frozen in his spot.

"...h-how... how c-could you..." He muttered, his eyes tearing up. Monty felt the whole situation hit him at once. Had he gone too far...?

That sparkle in Bonnie's eyes was no longer there, replaced with a look of utter betrayal directed at Monty. The gator thought for a moment before he sighed and reached out.

"Bon-"

The bunny backed away and refused to take his hand. He simply wiped his eyes and clutched the hat tightly before shoving past Monty and storming back towards the entrance.
