Monty sighed deeply. There were under the stage, right before a show again. The song they were performing had Bonnie's two hardest solos, the ones he messed up his first performance.
He can't let that happen again. It was humiliating.
He clutched the bass tighter.
"Monty!" He heard a familiar deep voice from behind. He turned back in surprise as Freddy jogged over.
"You forgot these in your greenroom." He handed him Bonnie's old glasses. Monty visibly tensed.
"I-I didn't forget them... I... I don't know if I should wear them. Freddy offered a sympathetic look.
"As... hard as it will be to watch you wear these... Bonnie gifted you them for a reason. They suit you." He insisted. Monty hesitated before finally taking them and putting them on cautiously.
"Are you ready?" Freddy asked. Monty shrugged and glanced down.
"I guess so... nervous about the solo, though..." He trailed off. Freddy ruffled his mohawk playfully.
"You're going to do great, Monty. You have been working so hard and improved so much!" The bear insisted.
"But... what if I mess up? What if I can't do it?"
Freddy placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
"You will never know if you never try." He insisted. Monty finally nodded and stepped on the platform.
The first solo went by fine. His singing was not as good as Bonnie or Freddy, but the crowd seemed to like it. As the song got closer to the bass solo, Monty felt his whole body hotwiring in anticipation. He kept up his stage act on the outside, but on the inside, he was panicking.
When the spotlight landed on him, he took a breath and went for it.
As he played, the guests watched in awe. The other band members even glanced in pleasant surprise as they watched him work gracefully in the strings of the guitar.
After what felt like an eternity, his solo ended, and he closed it off with one last powerful note before the audience cheered.
He watched in awe at all the praise he was receiving from the audience.
They... they loved him. They really loved him!
Monty thought back to when he was still a new animatronic. Back when he watched the band perform and wondered how it was like. Now it was all here. The glitter, the cheers, the commradery of the members.
This was everything he ever wanted... and he never would've gotten it without Freddy's support.
Or Bonnie. The one who gave him a chance and encouraged him. The one who influenced his style in the first place. He felt a chill run up his body at the nostalgic memory of Bonnie and him laughing while the bunny gave him his "glamrock" makeover.
Now he did it. Bonnie really did make him a superstar.
He wiped the tear off his face before it fell, and when the platform lowered, he was nearly knocked off his feet as Chica and Roxanne dived in to hug him.
"You did awesome! That was such a good solo!" Chica cheered. When they parted, Freddy stepped over and trapped him in an even tighter hug and laughed.
"You did wonderfully, Monty!"
As if he couldn't get any more emotional. He was thankful the glasses hid his crying. He was so happy, he was a glamrock!
He'd never give this away.
