This is a description for an IGCSE paper. Here we go.

Suddenly, everything stopped moving and there was complete silence. The glowering red orb that cast a scant light on everything espiable hung in place, petrified. The scarce wisps of clouds maintained their place, unmoving, uncomforting. A cat had stopped short in its tracks; a dog was unable to finish its howl. No wind. No solace.
Was I the only one alive?
The earth showed a sick shade of brown, rooting no plants from horizon to horizon. All that grew on the mounts were thorns.
My heart weighed me down, as did the load on my back: my supplies for a week's meditation on the hills. Would I survive that long?
Keeping faith in the Lord of the worlds, I trudged my way upwards: life and death were in His Hands. I had nothing to fear.
Just then, as if determined to blaspheme, there came a wind. Not peaceful and soothing-rather, hot and fierce. The clouds stirred overhead. Quickening my pace, I prayed to the Almighty.
Then came the rain. If I had thought that I had already experienced the ultimate evil possible, then I was to be proved wrong.
The water was warm, warmer the next moment. It would reduce me to wet ashes by the time I reached the cave. I had to act quickly.
Suddenly, I heard a howl. No, it wasn't the dog-that was presently a heap of charred bones. More howls followed. They sounded like wolves-distant, but clear.
Carefully looking downwards, I gasped. The sounds were normal, their sources were not.
This must be Death itself!
There were wolves - they appeared so, at least - but they weren't the emitters of the noises. In front of them, there were creatures on all fours, with bodies of humans, but some faces of monkeys and some of pigs!
'God! Save me!', I prayed desperately.
How would I get out of this mess?!
There was an entire army of Satans advancing across the plains, and was I the only one to fight back?
I was almost running uphill, in pursuit of the shelter of my cave, having an ardent desire for a companion...
As I neared the leveled place at a distance from the peak, I fell into prostration.
There was my brother with a smile across his face, mounted on a winged white stallion. On his belt was his scabbard, a bluish sapphire embedded in the hilt of his sword.
He held out the reins of another winged creature, a pure black beauty. Then he handed me my sword: an elegant silver blade that emanated sheer purity, its hilt clasping a finely cut garnet having the colour of my eyes.
I let go of my rucksack and mounted the winged horse.
The message was clear, I didn't need the words.
Together we would fight against the forces of evil, and together we would die, striving in His Cause.
