It had been days since Howleen had fed Twyla, and quite frankly she didn't care to. Your favoritism towards her only made Howleen less keen to feed her or take care of her in general. Howleen's only focus was you.

She sat cross legged on your floor, further explaining what she believed about you and how you effected her life. You sat in disgust, wondering how on Earth could someone be so delusional. She smiled passionately as she spoke, finding you too interesting to sit so plainly in your presence.

You stopped thinking and snapped yo reality when she mentioned a sacrifice.

"Wait, what?" You asked for clarification. Hopefully she didn't say what you thought she did.

"I said on the full moon, I need to sacrifice something and bathe you in its blood." Howleen cocked her head to the side, confused at how upset you seemed.

"When's the next full moon?" You spat out frantically.

"This weekend."

"What day is it?!"

"Wednesday." She giggled. "Do you not know your days anymore?"

"Not anymore." You mumbled. "What are you going to sacrifice?"

"I don't know yet." She shrugged. "I haven't really thought about it too much. I guess I should start preparing, huh?"

"N-No, a sacrifice isn't necessary."

"Yes it is, silly." She laughed loudly. "now, are you hungry?"

You sat at the small desk that was in the corner of the room. You picked up your fork and ate off of it, your face blank and your movements slow. Meanwhile, your mind raced.

What would she sacrifice? A dog? A cat? A bird? A person??

You didn't know, and you wished that Twyla had given you more information than she had. You felt unprepared, as if you questioned your entire existence. What would happen after the sacrifice? What if you actually turned into a goddess?

You looked down at your plate. What a stupid thought. Of course you weren't a goddess. You were human. Nothing short, nothing more.

A second thought plagued your mind, and you turned to howleen. Her eyes stared at you in wonder, and she quickly snapped from her daze to give you a bright smile.

"I have a question."

"What is it?" She held a small grin that would have been comforting if she wasn't the one that kidnapped you.

"Why me?"

"Huh?"

"I'm plain. I'm a human. I don't stand out. There's nothing special about me. So why did you choose me?"

"I didn't choose you, silly." You grimaced at her words. "You chose me. You just don't know it. I saw you, and it felt like my soul was whole. It was confusing and it made me angry at first, but after a while I was completely okay with it."

"What gave you the courage to take me?"

"You did. Knowing that we'd be okay afterwards, and that we'd be happy afterwards....that's enough of a confidence boost to take you."

You sat in silence, trying to come up with more questions. As much as you hated to admit it, Howleen intimidated you. She had kidnapped you, you didn't know what she would do next. The more you kept her talking, the less likely she'd be to snap and hurt you.

Your fears were valid. You didn't know how reactive and unstable she really was. You didn't know the full extent of her broken mental state.

"Where's your family?"

"At home." She kicked her feet as she scooted closer to edge of the bed. "I told them I have some studying to do at the bookstore."

"Oh." You smacked your lips. "Do they know about me?"

"Nope." She grinned. "There's nothing but woods for miles, and I have an amazing sense of smell and direction. So don't think about trying to run away, okay?"

She held a bright smile as she spoke cheerfully, but her enthusiasm only scared you more. It sounded more like a threat than anything else. You worried for yourself, but Howleen had a liking to you. She didn't have a liking towards Twyla, and your concern for her greatly outweighed your concern for yourself.

"Would you ever...kill someone?" You asked.

"If it meant I got to keep you, or if it made you happy, or if you asked, or if you didn't like someone, or if someone hurt you, or if-"

"I get it." You interrupted with a mumble. "You would kill someone."

"Only over you." She jumped to her feet.

Howleen pointed to your now empty plate. "Are you done? May I take that?"

"Sure." You handed over your plate.

She slowly backed out of the door with it.

"Oh, and (Y/N)?"

"Hm?"

"You think too much." She said with a giggle.

Then, she left you alone.
