The night of the full moon finally arrived, and Howleen was bustling around the cabin. You could hear her through the walls, running around and collecting items and running into things. You jumped away from the wall when your bedroom door opened.

Your eyes darted to the window, the full moon showing through the stained glass. Howleen smiled, her eyes dangerously dark and her smile looking sinister.

"Are you ready?" She asked.

"F-For?" You asked, dreading the answer you knew you'd already get.

"Your sacrifice."

You looked around. As horrible as it sounded, you hoped it was an animal being killed and not a person. You hoped it was possibly a bug, maybe a bird or a fish. Something easy to forget and something non-traumatizing.

You stood to your feet and allowed her to put hand cuffs on you. Then, she led you to the backyard where a large stone sat. It was perfectly flat, and spots of red alerted your brain. It was already used.

She sat you down and tied a rope between the cuffs onto a tree.

"You shouldn't be able to escape now." She smiled warmly. "I'll be back. I've got to go get the sacrifice."

You inhaled and stood on the leaves and twigs that surrounded you. A few moments later, Twyla was brought out.

Your gut turned as Howleen forced her onto the rock.

"No! Howleen!" You yelled, and you tugged at the rope.

"This is for you, baby!" She screamed, and in a quick movement snapped Twyla's neck. Then, with a type of strength you've never seen, Howleen ripped her head off. You screamed and looked away.

Vomit made its way up your throat, and you struggled to hold it down. You glanced over at Howleen, who was tearing into the corpse with her teeth.

After that, you spilled your stomach onto the ground.

You didn't watch what happened after you threw up. You only focused on your feet, with the occasional gag. You didn't want to see how disgusting Howleen was. You wished you were home. You wanted to go home.

But reality had set in, you couldn't go home. And if you did manage to, you'd never be the same. Would anyone even want you home after everything you had experienced?

A hand reached from the shadows and grabbed your wrist, causing you to scream and thrash around. Howleen stepped out from the dark and giggled sheepishly.

"Sorry for scaring you. You were spacing out. Are you okay?" She asked, and hope filled her body. "Are you remembering?!"

Your mind went blank. "No, I was-!"

You stopped. Should you just lie? Just give her what she wants so bad?

"Howleen, I have to tell you something." You said calmly.

Her eyes filled with wonder. "What?"

"I..." You couldn't believe you were going to say it. "I remember...everything."

Howleens eyes widened. "C-Come inside, before anything or anyone can see you or hear you!"

She untied you and held the rope like a leash. She led you to the livingroom, where she sat you on the couch and sat on the floor infront of you.

"I-I was...um..." You struggled to come up with some lie. Anything you could think of to make her believe you, anything you could say to make her get help.

"I was a goddess of...love and fertility." You rummaged through your mind to try and remember what exactly it was that she had told you.

"Right!" Howleen smiled.

"And you were, a uh, a worshipper of mine. You and I..."

"We were lovers." She finished for you.

You blinked. You had been trying to avoid those words, but it seemed like you couldn't escape it.

"Yes...."

Howleen jumped up and gave you a large hug before kissing you. You sat stunned. Her sudden show of affection surprised you. You weren't ready for it.

Memories of her ripping apart Twyla with her own teeth popped into your mind. Your gut turned again, and the familiar taste of vomit entered your mouth. You choked it down, trying not to display such disgust.

"So....now what?" She asked.

"We...should go back to living our normal lives." You offered. "Maybe if the gods and goddesses know that we remember then they'll punish us again."

"What?" Howleen scoffed. "Us going back to normal? That's not going to help. We have to stick together. We don't want to lose each other again!"

"R-Right....silly idea." You dismissed it quickly, too afraid of what she would do to you if she found out you were pretending.

"How about...we live here! You stay all day, for obvious reasons, and I'll drop out of school and get a job to help feed us!"

"Smart." You mumbled, your mood deflated.

"The only thing we have to worry about is the owners coming back to get the cabin."

You nodded and looked around. "With how well taken care of this place is, I'm sure someone will be back for it. Maybe we really should go back to normal." You tried again.

"What? No!"

"We can still be together!" You argued.

"No one's leaving, and that's final." Howleen glared.

You stopped. "Fine." You stood and marched towards the back of the cabin. Howleen jumped and ran after you.

"Where are you going?!"

"To my room!" You said, and you slammed your bedroom door shut.

Howleen grabbed the handle, but it was locked. She rested her face against the wood. "You mean our room!"

"No, mine!"

Howleen rolled her eyes as tears began to form. She hated arguing with you. She tried to brush it off, but no matter how she tried she just couldn't do it.

It was a silly argument! Surely she could get over it.

But the more she thought about it, the more she got scared of you leaving.

"Let me in!" She pleaded.

"Go away!" You yelled.

Howleen began to cry, and she raked her hands through her hair before running to the bathroom and locking herself in.

She had just gotten you to remember, and you were already fighting!

Oh, how she wished you'd just make up with her.

But it seemed like you wouldn't give in.

Howleen hated arguing with you. It were almost as if she could remember every petty argument you two had in your past lives.

Maybe if she apologized first?

Yeah! That had to work! But she had to wait on you to be willing to listen.

Howleen stayed in the bathroom, not trying to get out any time in the near future. She'd wait it out, just like she always did.
