Light flooded the cavern, which seemed to burn all the darkness away. Screams of unholy beings rang with hate, but following that sounds which reminded Dawn of sighs of relief. Not exactly rejoicing, but satisfied.

She slowly opened her eyes and blinked out the spots of light which danced across her vision. When she opened her eyes again, she looked around the cavern. It was just as she had remembered, clear of all those Unown that had infected the place. A small glimmer of light came down from above, from a small crack in the ceiling, highlighting the altar. Small flecks of frost came down.

Even the walls seemed less threatening. The stones which had been covered in shadow a moment before showed their natural colors for all to see. It was almost beautiful, considering the creepy chill Dawn had gotten earlier.

Dr. Black turned to his two students.

“You can let go of each other now,”

Dawn looked and saw she was in… a close position with Ash. Ash realized this too and they both got off each other.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t have issued a warning,” he said “But I had to do it to get them off your back."

He took off a pair of sunglasses.

Ash looked at the Life Pokemon that stood behind his teacher. “You…” Ash didn’t seem to have any words “Xerneas? But how? Isn’t they legendary?”

“And isn’t it from Kalos?” Dawn questioned.

Dr. Black laughed. “No, this isn’t THE Xerneas, but one of her children. I call her Big Blue."

Big Blue gave a cry as if to agree.

“Wait, children? They can have those?”

He nodded. “Of course. They are guardians of nature and all, but Legendary Pokemon are still Pokemon."

“Oh yeah, that makes sense,” Ash said.

Dr. Black’s expression turned grim. “Could you two please don’t tell anyone about my Pokemon? You can imagine the media attention a Pokemon like this would cause, and I don’t want that,”

“We won’t sir, if that’s what you really want,” Dawn replied.

“Me too sir,” Ash added. “Now how do we get out?”

A groan followed which came from none of them. They moved cautiously, in case one of the Unown was still there. But then they came around the altar, and found a body. But unlike the lost trainer, this one still had color. His skin was pale, a bit lighter than Ash’s skin tone. His black hair had the same color, and a similar cap, but this one was black and white instead of Ash’s fire red.

But more than that, part of his legs were missing, and so were some parts of his arms.

“This guy… is he the guy we found earlier? The one spitting all those tentacle things?”

“It seems so,”

“We need to be careful!”

“I don’t think we need to worry about him attacking us. The dazzling gleam should have scared off the Unown,”

The body then shifted. His eyes slowly opened, but he didn’t seem to be focused on any particular thing, only the light.

“The… I have not seen light in a while,”

Dr. Black looked up at the crack in the ceiling. “True,”

“We’ll get you help. Your arms are kinda… messed up…” Ash said.
