The Malfoy family was at the height of the social class of the Wizarding world. They were whispered about, rumours were spread, they were loved to their faces and despised to their backs.

It is often said of the Malfoy family that you will never find one at the scene of the crime, though their fingerprints might be all over the guilty wand. Independently wealthy, with no need to work for a living, they have generally preferred the role of power behind the throne, happy for others to do the donkey work and to take responsibility for failure. They have helped finance many of their preferred candidates' election campaigns, which have (it is alleged) included paying for dirty work such as hexing the opposition.

The descendants of the original Armand Malfoy, were closely interlinked with the British Royal Family, stemming as far back as William the Conqueror. There were many nobles Lords and other influential figures.

There was even a rumour that the first Lucious Malfoy, Nassaria's great great great grandfather, was an unsuccessful aspirant for the hand of Queen Elizabeth I, daughter of Henry Tudor VIII. And if you believe that, you may believe that the Queen's subsequent hatred for marriage was due to a jinx placed on her by the same Lucious Malfoy.

Not only were the Malfoys powerful in the Wizarding World, but also the Muggle World. Their large estates in the Wizarding world could only be matched by their equally large estates in the Muggle world. Their accounts were filled with Muggle currency and assets, becoming one of the most powerful and richest families in Muggle Britain.

They owned vineyards, like the Malfoy Apothecary which sourced Superior red wine. However, after the Statue of Secrecy was passed, denying Wizarding families to have contact with the Muggle world and Muggles, the Malfoys had to disappear and leave their Muggle assets and currency behind.

So they began to seek influence over the newly formed British Ministry of Magic. Financing elections, hexing the opposition and then asking for favors to be done in favor of their blood supremacy.

The family has, however, refused to practice inter-marrying between cousins, as was done in the family of Lestranges, and Black's to keep their blood purity. There were some half-blood's that appeared in the Malfoy family tree.

Besides that, the motto of the Malfoy family was: Sanctimonia Vincet Semper.

Purity will always conquer.

Almost as if being a Malfoy or a Black (or a mix of both, in the case of Draco and Nassaria) made you royalty. And you had to do anything to keep the blood pure.

However, Nassaria was all but sure, that those members of House Black and Malfoy that were disowned and scorched off the family tree had a very good reason to be. After all, even if it was a bit naive, she was sure.

Love will always conquer. Amor semper vincere. That was her personal motto, and she would live by them.
