Despite constant attention from his mates, being cooped up in the house started to get to Katsuki. Without being able to leave the premise, he would surely go crazy. Whereas the day before was sweet and vacation-like, now Katsuki just wanted to do something. Go to the gym or out for a walk or to the store. But no. His mates thought he should stay inside where he would be safe.

"I fucking doubt they could track me down on a damned mountain!" Katsuki growled after Izuku shot down going hiking. He stood with his arms over his chest, prepared to fight Midoriya Izuku if necessary. Hell, he would use his scent if it meant getting some damned space.

The alpha looked exasperated. They had been arguing back and forth for ten minutes straight. Shouto stepped into the bedroom after the first five, seemingly incapable of enduring more of Katsuki's rage. Part of Katsuki felt horrible. After Shouto's confession from last night, Katsuki did not want to put him in a situation capable of bringing those memories back. Yet the stubborn omega could not find it in himself to back down.

When Izuku moved to get closer, Katsuki maneuvered away. "I want to go on a damned walk."

Izuku sighed. "Kacchan, I told you-"

"No!" He bit back quickly. "I don't have to fucking listen to you!" His foot moved to step closer towards the door, but Izuku was faster. He grabbed Katsuki's wrist and forced him towards the hall instead.

"We're trying to protect you!" The alpha shouted at him. "Damnit, Kacchan, I thought you understood!"

"And I thought you understood that I can fucking handle myself! Or must I keep reminding you that I'm a fucking trained assassin!?"

A low growl vibrated from Izuku. "And how many times do I need to remind you that you're incapable of resisting an alpha's command!?" He practically snarled, spit flying from his lips. "Or do you need a physical reminder?"

As if backing up his threat, the smell of rain grew stronger for a brief moment. While Katsuki refused to back down entirely, he knew Izuku would not hesitate. "I just need some fucking air, Deku."

"And I need you safe. Here. With Shouto and I."

"Then come with me!" Katsuki tried desperately. "I'm going fucking crazy here, Izuku!"

The use of his name must have shocked Izuku a little. His grip lightened, and he pulled back some. But before the alpha could say anything, the door to their bedroom swung open to reveal Shouto. Tears stained the shorter alpha's cheeks, his hair looked to be in disarray, and his eyes flickered between their usual set of unmatched colors and a blood thirsty red.

A tense silence inhabited the air around them. Izuku held Katsuki, and Katsuki remained frozen in place. Not because he could not move, he did not want to. He feared setting off whatever brewed inside his other mate. He had never spotted such an expression before. On anyone. And especially not on Shouto.

Carefully, Izuku released Katsuki entirely. The green haired male looked both concerned and guilty. Katsuki watched with wide eyes as Izuku got down onto his knees, head forward and his neck bared in submission.

Scarlet eyes flicked between the display before him and the fuming Todoroki Shouto, who seemed to calm just a little. A tug on his pants told Katsuki to mirror Izuku, but the omega remained frozen. This time it was not a matter of pride or his stubbornness. Not at all. He refused to witness Shouto fall apart like Katsuki knew he inevitably would if he somehow ended up with both of them submitting. Instead, Katsuki mustered up every remaining ounce of his willpower and briskly made his way over to Shouto.

Calloused hands wiped away loose tears. He carefully wrapped his arms around Shouto's body and ducked his head into his neck. "I'm sorry." He whispered as he placed a soft kiss against Shouto's scent gland. "Fuck, Shouto. I'm so sorry."
