Give it up for Serendipity!❞ the host shouted over the loud cheering of the crowd at the music bar, announcing the next performer.

Hello, everyone! How are you tonight?❞ Skye, the band's guitarist, asked, pulling the microphone off of it's stand. ❝We will only be performing 3 songs because our lead vocalist is not feeling well and will not be able to make it here tonight.

As soon as she said that, Alexis, the said lead vocalist, reached the stage, grabbing the other microphone before slumping on an empty stool quietly.

What are you doing here? You are supposed to be resting for the battle of the bands the day after tomorrow.❞ John, the drummer, whisper-shouted at his overly stubborn friend.

I can do it.❞ The girl replied flatly, counting to four as a signal for the others to start playing their instruments.

The whole bar went silent as the singer started to sing. Her raspy, but still beautiful voice was the only sound that can be heard inside the bar along with the low tone of the guitars being played.
