"Phew!" You exhaled, bringing a hand up to your forehead to wipe some beads of sweat. "Can you hand me another piece?" You shouted.
"Can't," Canada climbed out out of the truck bed, his shoes hitting the ground rather harsh when he jumped down the ledge. "There's no more wood in the truck!"

You looked at the pile of firewood that had formed over the days ,and then back at Canada, a hint of uncertainty glistened in your eyes.
"Is this enough wood for the winter?"
He thought for a moment, carefully observing the wood before slightly shaking his head.
"Probably not. I'd say we get wood one last time and then we should have enough to last through the winter" He said, making his way to the side of his truck, motioning for you to get in as well. With his usual smile plastered on his face.

It's been around 4 weeks now since you began living with Canada. Even though you had to hide every time somebody came to visit, life was alright. You often went into the garden when Canada had to go to town or had any business to attend to.

And while many days seemed rather boring, the late afternoons and nights were the complete opposite. Canada one night asked you to go outside with him because he wanted to show you something. He navigated you through the dark forest, past the lake and only stopped when you were in a clearing with soft grass covering the ground.

You were so confused but Canada quickly shushed your questioning while pointing a finger to the starry sky. You gasped at the sight, sheets of violet and green lights shimmered in the sky, waving around like seaweed would in water.

That night was spectacular, and just three days later you had begged him to see the aurora lights again, to which he caved at seeing you so gleeful. But that time you brought a blanket and some crackers to snack on, while enjoying the beautiful and eerie dark night.

The white pick up truck halted in the middle of the dirt path and you both got out, Canada already with his axe in one hand.
"Alrighty let's go-OAHHHHH" You yelped when Canada suddenly picked you up over his shoulder, obviously meaning to tease you.
"Yeah your right let's goOAH" he imitated you, gaining a small smack on the back of his head to which he let out a dry *umpf* sound, but laughed soon after with you joining in.

Some minutes later you had found a tree, which he cut into pieces and loaded on to the truck.

"Alright that should be enough,"He stated "let's head back, it's getting colder!" For Canada it probably wasn't even cold, but for you? You were shivering. Not only from the cold, but also from that unsettling feeling that you had experienced before. The feeling of being watched.

You felt it when you arrived, but now that it was getting darker your paranoia was on high alert, and now the feeling almost made you want to run.

You shook it off and climbed in the passenger seat, seeking Canadas presence in order not to feel as intimidated by whatever was out there.

"Ughh..this stupid feeling won't let me go Canada!" You complained to Canada, which wasn't the first time.
"I'm sure it's nothing (Y/N), there are deers, raccoons, Mooses... They're probably just curious and watched us from afar. No worries, besides..." he pointed to his ax in his hand. "I've got my baby with me, nothing would even dare get near us!" He joked, kicking on the engine and driving back down the dirt road.

As it was nearly pitch black outside, you and Canada were already back in the cabin, both with a mug of hot chocolate in your hands, watching a movie. You and Canada had grown really close to each other, to the point where you could share a blanket on the couch, or let him pick you up. He truly cared for you, and you were forever grateful for having met him.

You didn't plan on staying at Canadas place for so long but... There was no where else to go. Besides you both enjoyed each other's presence.

The dishes were already clean so you had nothing left to do beside chilling. The day had been exhausting but it felt good that you were able to help Canada.
