Flashback
In the Dark Palace's dungeon, Prince Charming and Prince Edwards were attempting to break the lock on their cell, using a rock, but were to no prevail.
"I will find you, Snow. I will always find you," Prince Edwards said.
"That's still my line," Prince Charming said.
Two guards approached and unlocked the cell, "It'll be hard to do that without your heads. Get up, the Queen is looking forward to your executions," Guard One said and they escorted the princes out of the dungeon and down a corridor, but Prince Charming fell.
"Get up! On your feet," Guard two said.
A fight broke out between the princes and the two guards. The princes prevailed and fled down the corridor until they encountered another guard with a bow and arrow. Prince Charming and Prince Edwards turned to head the way they came, but encountered another guard.
"Shoot them!" The guard said.
The guard with the bow fired his arrow but instead of hitting either of the princes, he shot the other guard instead.
The two princes turned to the remaining guard, "Who the hell are you?" Prince Charming asked.

The guard removed his helmet, revealing himself as the Huntsman, "A friend," He said.
"I don't know you," Prince Charming said.
"Yeah, can't say that I do either," Prince Edwards said.
"But I know Snow White and Vanessa," The Huntsman said.
"Are they okay?" Prince Charming asked.
"The Queen and Princess were traveling to meet Snow White," the Huntsman unlocked the princes shackles, "Not only is Snow's fate in a precarious place, but Vanessa's is. We must hurry. Follow me, I can get you out," they followed the Huntsman down the corridor, "I'll try and stall the Queen. The rest is up to you," he handed the princes a sword each, along with some supplies, "Your weapon, and some provisions. Good luck," The Huntsman said.
"You're not coming with us?" Prince Edwards asked.
"I cannot. I gave up my heart so that the Queen would spare Snow's. Don't let my sacrifice be in vain. Find her, find both of them," he looked at Prince Charming, "And break Vanessa's curse," The Huntsman said.
