Felicity Smoak (Teenage Au)

Felicity was not having a good day. First she slept through her alarms and was late for her first class. Then she realized that her Dad had already left for work and she had to walk to school. In. The. Rain. Felicity burst through the doors to her science class absolutely soaked.

“Felicity!” Mr Sanders barked when she entered. She winced at hearing the harsh, accusing voice. “What gives you the right to be late, then disrupt my class Miss Smoak?" “I-I um sle-”
Felicity tried to speak before getting abruptly cut off.

“No excuses, you have detention after school, Felicity”. Mr Sanders turned his attention to the rest of the class.“Get back to work!” he demanded, the class suddenly silent again.

The rest of the day was torture. It seemed like time was standing still. Miss Lysle, the English teacher and the detention monitor for that day, called her name and she snapped out of her daze.

“Felicity!” Miss Lysle called out, “Detentions over you can go home now hun”. Miss Lysle was by far the kindest teacher in the school, she had a fun
way of teaching and a soft, melodic voice that compelled you to listen.

“Now Felicity, you are a wonderful student, so I hope I will not see you here again. You have so much potential, sweetheart.” “ Thank you Miss Lysle, have a good evening, she replied meekly and headed home.

Felicity entered her house and headed straight to the fridge to scour for food. A note had been stuck on last night’s leftovers from her Dad.
^ Working late again, I guess^
Felicity’s mind immediately supplied. This was unfortunately a regular occurrence. Felicity quickly skimmed the note.

Lissy-
Something came up at work again, it's a trip this time. I’ll be back by the end of the week. Don’t throw parties, only Sara can come over. Weeknights are fine, just remember to do your homework. Don't forget to eat either. I love you.

She just sighed. Like a routine, she heated up her food and rushed upstairs to her room to call her best friend. Sara Lance.

Sara and Felicity had met in kindergarten and have been best friends ever since. Felicity dialed Sara’s number and Sara immediately picked
up.

* Hey Lissy! What's up?*
*Dads away again, can you come over?* * Dang. Again? I swear I haven’t seen him in like, 2 months.*
* I know right!?! Anyway, can you come over? Dad said in the note it was fine.* Felicity said, somewhat desperate for company.

*Okay Fe, I’ll ask my Dad. Maybe you could come here so you're not late for school tomorrow.*
Felicity groaned.
* Don’t remind me S, I still can’t believe I slept through my alarms*
*Lol, I’ll ask my Dad if you can stay over and call you back later, ok?*
*Alright, bye*.

Felicity hung up and decided to start on her science homework, Mr Sanders would probably literally kill her if it wasn’t turned in on time.
About 15 minutes passed before Sara called her back.

*Dad said you can stay the whole
week! Laurels out with her boyfriend, so she won't be a bother. Dad’ll be there in, like, 10 minutes. Start packing!*. Before Felicity could reply Sara hung up.

^ Always so optimistic^ she thought, gazing at her phone with a fond smile before turning her attention to her wardrobe. ^ Well, I better start packing^.

Just like Sara predicted, Mr Lance knocked at the door exactly 10 minutes later.

“ Hello Felicity, ready to go?” he greeted. “Yep, thank you for letting me stay, Mr Lance.” “No problem Felicity, just don’t keep my daughter up too late” Mr Lance said in a slightly sarcastic tone. Felicity inwardly giggled, smile growing.
