It was just a normal day for Caitlin Snow. She still had an hour till her work started, which included helping Team Flash catch meta-humans or thiefs and robbers. So, until then, Caitlin decided to have a coffee at CC Jitters. She was supposed to be here with Cisco but her friend decided sleeping was better than having a cup of coffee with a friend.
Alone, she sat on one of the empty tables, savouring her coffee and wondering about the ball her mother told her about.
Yes, a ball. Where all the famous scientists and promising prodigies would be attending. Her mother's company was going to hold it and of course she had to go as well.
Her relationship with her mother changed throughout her meta-human abilities and all the trouble it brought. So last night, when they were discussing about it, her mother mentioned the ball and told her she must attend it. As a fellow scientist and bio-chemist, plus being Carla Tannhauser's daughter, there was no possible way that she could miss it.
Although, all the people she was going to meet and having a conversation with them sounded like a terrible headache and so Caitlin decided to put the matter for the other time. She took last of her coffee in one gulp and was about to leave when the ground started shaking. Caitlin held tightly on her table and tried her best to stay on ground but shaking was becoming more and more violent. It was harder to leave the building because any step she might take would cause her to fall down.
Just when she was searching for a solution, the ceiling started cracking and the bits of it fell down. Her heart raced as she looked around and saw people panicking and dropping on the ground, unable to move. This was the most horrible earthquake Caitlin has ever seen.
She tried to make her way towards the exit, thinking if these panicked people would even notice if she turned into Frost.
"Bet they won't." A cold, snarky voice rang in her head and Caitlin was thankful Frost was there.
I'll let you take control. She said. Her consciousness was about to slip away when a peice of ceiling fell down. Caitlin looked up and noticed a larger piece about to crumble down. She let out a shaky scream when the ceiling went down and everything almost turned black.
She waited for the terrible, crushing pain. Waited and waited until she heard wind rustling around her and familiar feeling of accelerating. She was running faster, or someone was taking her faster because almost everything dulled down, except of the voice of wind flying in her hair and cracks of lightning.
She was afraid to open her eyes but she knew she was safe. Safe, because everytine she had this familiar feeling, there was rush of relief and calmness because person near her was someone she completely trusted with her life.
So, she kept her eyes closed, afraid that if she opened them she would see the damage the earthquake caused. She hated that whenever a villain seemed to appear, city went crumbling and citizens became targets. But that's where being part of Team Flash came in. They always did their best to restore whatever the damage bad guys caused.
With those thoughts, she barely noticed that they stopped moving and every voice that was dulled before filled her ears.
"Are you all right?" A soft voice asked, putting her on the ground. Caitlin opened her eyes and blinked few times, adjusting to everything. Then she nodded and steadied her posture.
"Thanks," She gave the city's savour her biggest smile and he returned the expression. She stared at him for few seconds until her alter ago's voice snapped in her mind.
"Caity, you were supposed to let me out!"
"Right, sorry!"
Caitlin let her consciousness step aside, leaving place for Frost to seeze control. Once finished, she forced herself to stay awake and keep track of everything that was happening while Frost did all the moving.
