Chapter 4

Dawn's POV

I heard a ring tone play and I looked at my phone. Tayte. Why I wonder, is Tayte calling me? Oh well, probably just to check in. "Hey sexy!" I say and laugh.

"Cel, you need to come home now, two boys brought Rainier here and he's hurt bad, but they won't let us take him to the hospital, they're asking for you...." Says Tayte. I hear the panic in his voice and know something is truly wrong, not that he would lie to me either but if i hadn't just been told what my boyfriend is, I wouldn't have believed him.

"Hey sugar bear, how ya feelin'?" I ask Rainier. It's been 3 days since he was hurt, he is actually healing slower than humans, and it's starting to scare me.... On the bright side, I met his brothers.... Ones older and the others younger.

"I feel better, but I'm still sleepy. And I need a drink, can you hand me that bottle of water?" He says, his eye lids drooping as he says it. He truly does look tired.

I grab the bottle and open it enough that all he has to do is twist a little and the lid would be off. I handed it to him and as I pulled away, he grabbed my hand. I turned back to him and smiled.

"What's the matter baby?" I ask and he just smiles and holds my hand. He sits up and flicks the lid off with one finger. Still holding my hand he takes a drink and puts the lid back on, all with his one free hand.

"I have a question."

"Yeah?"

"Was I really your first kiss?"

I look at him for a second like I have no idea what the hell he was talking about, then smiled at him like everything in the world made sense to me.

"I said i had never had a kiss, so I'm pretty sure that's what what meant. Goofball." I say and giggle.

He smiles at me and lays back, closing his eyes. A sudden urge pulls me forward, and before I know it, I'm kissing him on the lips....

I pull away and a burning sensation on my cheek bones tell me I'm blushing, hard. I look at Rainier and see the look on his face. He looks confused, happy, and excited all at once. "I didn't know she was the dominant one Ray" Says Dekoda, the youngest of the brothers. He's adorable.

(**Dekoda's name is pronounced like Dakota)

"She's not, she just keeps beating me to it." Says Rainier. He laughs and sits up.

I blush and he pulls me to the couch next to him and hugs me. He is soo sweet...... "Aw, Rainier and Dawn sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G, first comes love, then come mar-" the rest is muffled as Rainier puts his hand over Dekoda's mouth.

"Marriage, then come a baby in a baby carriage" continues Dylan, Rainier's older brother, as he walks in eating a sandwich. "Who are we chanting this towards?" He asks, looking at Dekoda.

Dekoda moves Rainier's hand and he says, "These two love birds. When I walked in, I saw Dawn kiss him first. He didn't make the move, she did. And then he pulled her to him and hugged her, so I started singing." Dylan laughed.

I looked at Dylan, then Dekoda, then Rainier, and then at my phone. I was kind of embarrassed because I was caught kissing my boyfriend, then got teased about it..... "Hey, did I upset you?" I hear, I look up and they're all staring at me. Rainier moves to sit beside me and I lay my head on his shoulder. "I didn't mean to upset you, I'm sorry Dawn. I was just messing around with you guys. I didn't mean anything by it at all." Dekoda says. I look at him, and the look on his face let's me know he's being serious about it.

"It's okay, it was just a little embarrassing that you saw what i did."

"Do you want something to snack on?" I ask Rainier.

"Um, yea, sure. Do you guys have Cheetos and salsa?" He asks. Did he really just say those two things? The weirdest, yet most delicious combination of chip and dip?

"Cheetos and salsa? Did I hear you right?"

"Yea, i know it's weird and it sounds gross, but it's ama-" I cut him off.

"It's amazing, finally, someone who likes the same weird food combinations as I do!" I thrust my arm in the air as if I'm some warrior in battle and i just killed the head honcho of the rival peeps.

"Wait, you like them???"

"I love them, it's like cheesy salsa on a chip!" I say enthusiasm oozing out of me. I dash to the pantry and grab the party size bag of crunchy cheetos and to the fridge and grab the large bottle of salsa and a bowl.

I sit down and pour salsa into the bowl and open the bag. Tonight was gonna be fun. It's been a month since prom, and in that month, Rainier and I have grown closer. My mom says we act like we've known each other for 2 years and been dating for one of them. We've only been dating for 3 months.......

"So, what movies do you wanna watch today? Mom said she has a date tonight, plus she's gonna spend the night with him since it's their 8th date, so we have the house to ourselves all night, and you can stay over if you want." I said. My mom met this really amazing guy, he was super sweet, and he treated me like his best friend's daughter, still somewhat strict, but laid back and lenient.

"Let's watch a sad movie, and a scary one. So that I can comfort you when you're sad, and hold you when you're scared." He said, a huge grin on his face. He so sweet.

I hear something bang on the porch, and I jump up to check, Rainier beat me to it.... He was on the porch and talking to someone before I could even get up. I walk out and see my mom's boyfriend Jake. "Hey Jake, what's up?" I ask. I get no response. "Hello, is anyone in there?" I walk over and knock on his head lightly.

He looks at me with hatred in his eyes. It quickly fades as he realizes it's me. "I'm just here to get your mom's phone, she forgot it, and its raining, i didn't want her dress getting wet, so I offered. Who is this?" He asks, gesturing to Rainier.

"He's my boyfriend, why?" He seemed pissed off at him..... I had no idea what had been said before I had gotten out there, but there was definitely some conflict between the two of them, and I was determined to find out what exactly it was.
