Emilia walked and was greeted by her mum.
"Hey sweetie, how was your day?" She asked.
"It was alright I guess" she replied "Hey, can I walk to the library?"
"Sure sweetie, just be back before 10"
"Okay Mum" Emilia answered. She loved the library. It was an all night library. It was huge with almost every book ever created. Every book she had ever wanted she found in that library. The largeness enabled quietness and the best thing was it was only 3 blocks from her house. She checked the time, 4o'clock. She had 6 hours at the library.
"Good" she thought "6 hours of reading, one of life's greatest joys" she continued to walk until finally she arrived at the library. The building was really modern with 3 levels and a place on top where people could go to read. She often went up there when it got dark. It was beautiful seeing all those stars. She pushed on the door and went straight to her favourite corner. On the way she was greeted by one of the librarians.
"Hello Emilia" she said.
"Hello Ms Derfagon, how are you today?" She asked. She knew it was good manners to ask elders about their wellbeing.
"Well thanks, yourself?"
"I'm fine thank you"
"Well I'll just leave you to your reading" Emilia kept walking. She loved to read random facts. She remembered almost every fact and they were good for any conversation. Once she finished the book she walked over to the comics. Also in the comic section was a boy. He looked about her age. He had light brown hair, brown eyes and a smile to melt for. He was reading a Calvin and Hobbes. Calvin and Hobbes was Emilias all time favourite comic. She had read the comics again and again and she still laughed every time. He looked up at her and smiled.
"This is not a typical "girl meets boy story" is it?" Emilia thought. It didn't look like it was about to turn into one.
" Grow a pair you nerd" she thought. And that was exactly what she did. She walked over to him.
"Hey, how you doing?" She asked "Oh my god, that sounded stupid didn't it?"
"A little cheesy, but not quite stupid" the boy replied
"Thanks, I'm Emilia"
"I'm Dominic"
"I absolutely love Calvin and Hobbes, I come here all the time and read the comic again and again."
"I do too" Dominic answered "It's hilarious but in a way that only an intellectual would understand, like its more than stepping on a rake funny"
"I know, I couldn't have described it better myself"
"Um, so, do you read any other comics?"
"I sure do" and they started to talk for hours only once interrupted by Ms Derfagon putting her thumbs up to Emilia.
"Hey, do you wanna go onto the roof?" Dominic asked
"Sure, sounds great" they walked together to the staircase and up the stairs. They looked up in awe of the beautiful work of art the stars had portrayed for them.
"It's so beautiful" Emilia said.
"It's just breathtaking" Dominic said "Hey look at that constellation" Emilia turned her head and felt a kiss on her cheek. They looked at each other and blushed.
"Sorry, that was a bit stupid" Dominic said.
"A little cheesy, but not quite stupid" Emilia quoted. "Let's do it again except this time.." she didn't have to finish her sentence she felt his lips on hers. It was an amazing feeling for her.
"Usually I would wait until the second date but in this case I don't want to wait." Dominic told her. Emilia checked the time.
"I'm really sorry I have to leave soon it's 9:30"
"We should meet up again some time"
"Okay how about tomorrow night"
"Fine with me"
"Just in case it isn't can I have your number" she asked while pulling out her phone.
"Sure" he agreed and typed up his number.
"Again?" Emilia asked.
"Sure" Dominic agreed and milliseconds later she felt his lips on hers for the second time. She felt the world stop, she was so happy but as soon as it started it was over.
"I'll see you tomorrow?" She asked.
"Yeah tomorrow" Dominic answered. Emilia grabbed Dominic's hand and they slowly walked out of the library. They let go and went their own ways home.
"I'm so happy" Emilia thought "I haven't been this happy in so long"
