Shin Asakura x Lu Shaotang: A problematic vacation

Chapter 7

The jaws of Shin and Sakamoto nearly dropped, and after a few seconds of silence, the two patted Lu's head to show their appreciation. Suddenly Sakamoto feels his pocket vibrate. When he takes out his phone and accepts the call, Aoi and Hana appear on the screen and greet them with a bright, warm smile.

"How was the trip, honey? I was so busy that I couldn't call you earlier. Oh can you view the camera at the lanterns, Hana wants to see them."

"Papa! I miss you so much, I hope you have a nice trip. Shin and Lu too!", her smile warms the heart of his father but then his heart sinks when he sees Nagumo at the corner of the screen with his distinctive smile.

"Hi everyone, you seem to enjoy things so much huh Sakamoto, letting me suffer in Japan with all those hitmen who want your head. Remember to bring me- Hey don't ignore me like that Sakamoto!". Don't even pay attention to the Order's member, Sakamoto just raises his phone higher so that Hana and Aoi can see the performance.

The crowd starts to get bigger as the performances go on. 

"Lu, you are stepping on my foot- Oh."

"What's the matter, Shin?"

 "Why are there so many couples here, I mean, it feels kind of... awkward?"

"Ah, traditionally this event is also held for couples because, in the old days, this is the only day women can go out and meet their lovers. And look who is feeling awkward because not have a partner to be with them on this day."

"Shut up Lu, do I look like I care about the fact that I'm single?"

The red-haired girl just huffed and continued to enjoy the event. Now that she realizes it, it is quite a rare scene to see Sakamoto have that calming look on his face. In fact, he has to deal with most of the big fights, especially the one with Slur when he was injured that much. How could she sleep so peacefully at Granny's house without knowing anything? "If only I could be more helpful to Boss and Shin..."

"Shush, Lu!"

"H-huh, what it is Shin?"

"There is gonna be an explosion in 15 minutes at the performing area, don't just be shocked, I have just read the mind of the culprit nearby, we have to deal with this as soon as possible, let me tell Saka-"

"Don't tell Boss!", Lu responds to Shin, "I mean, we depend on him too much most of the time. Just look how happy he is to have a normal vacation, so I want to solve this on our own."

Shin suddenly chuckles. "You seem to be more mature than I thought, now let's go!"

The two then quickly sneak out of the excited crowd and try to find the culprit. From what Shin remembered, he was a young man with a black beanie and a blue jacket, maybe a tattoo on his neck. But finding a person who looks that common in such a crowd like this is almost possible, and Shin's mind-reading ability can't work well in this environment so they jump on a roof for a better view.

"Uhm Shin is that guy the culprit?"

"Which?!"

"The one over there, look at my finger direction."

"I don't know, be more specific."

"Just look at where I'm pointing at! The man near the tree on the right."

"The crowd is moving constantly, like in hell I can know who you are talking about."

Lu's head almost explodes because of the bickering. Normally she would continue to tease him until things are settled (by Sakamoto), yet she doesn't want to do so this time. Also, the last time they felt mad at each other, Lu was captured and almost used for experimental purposes. Ahh, how to deal with this case?

"Shin, while I'm looking at that man can you read my mind, that way we can find him."

"Wait, that is a good idea, let me do it."

Shin's attempt to read Lu's mind went smoother than he thought, at least for an 18-year-old girl who mostly thinks of alcohol.

"Oh here he is! Now let's go, we have only 5 minutes left."

The culprit, now wandering around the stage with the bomb controller, is cursing whenever he sees a couple. Suddenly, his shoulder hit someone, and when he was ready to fuck up whoever was, a hand lay on his head. Lu bangs his head onto her knee, makes him drop the controller and Shin just takes him away from the crowd and ties him to a pillar.
