Shin Asakura x Lu Shaotang: A problematic vacation

Chapter 8

"Finally awake?", Shin asks the man.

The said one panics, tries to run away but soon realizes the state that he is in.

"Who are you, a couple that captures people for fun?"

"We aren't a couple, and tell us where the bomb is."

"W-What, how can you know? But I won't tell you, because today is the day I revenge them."

"You don't need to, at the back of the stage right, I already know from your thoughts."

"Why do you want this place to explode? What kind of thing makes you want to revenge that much?", Lu wonders.

"Young people like you won't understand. Two years ago, I made a monumental confession to her right at this place, this moment but she refused me and dated another man. It was so embarrassing, to be refused in front of so many people. And now is the time I revenge, yet you two brats just put your noses in this."

"How pathetic", Shin squints his eyes.

"Like you can feel my pain!"

"I don't, but my boss does go crazy just because of a woman. Yet if he has to harm innocent people for her, he would rather break up."

After removing the bomb, the red-haired and the blonde quickly head back to their place for the last performance. They just silently enjoy the atmosphere, mostly because Lu doesn't know what to say.

"Hey, that idea of you was pretty good."

"H-huh ?"

"I was surprised though, you didn't keep teasing me like those last time."

"It just, I think I will be better to do so if we want to work together properly."

"... I guess I need to cooperate with you nicely from this point. Oh, the final fireworks!"

"Whoa, they didn't have this the last time I attended the festival. It is beautiful."

Colorful light illuminates their figures. Lu looks at Shin, whose face is brightening with joy,  gazes softly at the wonderful scene. If only he knew how good-looking he is when he doesn't have that stressful look on his face. Lu quickly turns away right after that thought pops up in her head with blood flushes to her cheeks.

Little did they know, Sakamoto had seen all the things they did with his family. 

"My my, look how well they go with each other, they surely matured now huh?", Aoi giggles, "Oh dear, are you smiling?"

To Sakamoto, Shin, and Lu are like his adoptive children, so it is natural for him to be happy seeing them get along well. The festival ended with Lu getting sleepy because she couldn't stay up late. Sitting in the taxi with Lu's head lying on his shoulder, Shin wishes he could become stronger to protect her and the Sakamoto family.

Tomorrow is going to be a hectic day.

1/ What is your first impression of each other?

Shin: A bratty Chinese girl who stepped on Mr. Sakamoto's meat buns, doing things recklessly, and is a daughter of triads.

Lu: An annoying guy with a tense face. Oh, he is also strict with me for no reason.

2/ What about now?

Shin: Like Heisuke, a good-for-nothing. What even takes her that long to get to work? She says she has to dress up but still has that pajama under her jacket. And her drinking habit too. There is Hana in the shop you know! Other than that, she is like a younger sister to me.

Lu: Still the same. Sometimes he acts like a mom though. But he treats me better now, I guess? Even buy a gift for me. But sometimes it gives me the creeps when I think of how he can read my mind at any time.

3/ A good thing about them?

Shin: Maybe her meat buns. The taste is not that bad.

Lu: He organizes the shop well, and his rabbit-shaped apple looks pretty too.

Shin: I dunno, involving in a relationship is tiresome. But I would like someone who can support me and respect my boundaries. Maybe the gentle type of girl. I prefer long hair too.

Lu: Someone who cares for me and treats me like a princess, a true gentleman. He has to be strong too, I'm an ex-triad after all. Also needs to be handsome.

Shin: Stop drinking alcohol daily, that stuff is unhealthy as heck. Also, you always make a mess when you are drunk.

Lu: I already told you I hate vegetables, stop putting them in my dish. If it is that healthy then you eat it yourself.
