Jungkook stared at his reflection in the mirror. He doesn't know how he managed to get into another fight this evening. He swears that he planned to come straight home, but when those punks from the other side of town show up, it was over.
He knows that he tried to control himself.
He really did keep his head down, pulling the sweatshirt closer to his body, beanie already completely over his ears.

But there was no point trying to convince himself of that now. He lets out a harsh dry laugh, because he knew that his efforts were hopeless. When they threw the soda can at the back of his head, the built up tension in him snapped and he lunged straight for them.

The people he had fought ended up looking worse than him, he was sure of that. But still, he was disappointed.
He should've held back. She would've wanted him to hold back.

As he cleans up the cut on his cheek, he scrutinizes the clear imagine of his face in the mirror. He tugs at the once perfectly straight, now disheveled strand atop his head. He looks at the cut again, letting out a desolate laugh, void of any happy emotions. He traces up the curve of his nose and scowls.

Clawing at the skin under his eyes, he lets out an agonizing breath. He curses himself because his eyes are dark brown and so barren, so sickening.

He curses his eyes. He curses them a million times over, because of them, he can see the constant reminder of the pain he's brought on others and the pain he's suffered himself.
