A-n: in this story La Cuna Island and the place where Basilius and Aelia lived in, as it was left untouched. I have reasons for this and it will be explained later.

A young girl sat on a bunk in a ship with a baby in her lap. This little one was all she had left, she sighed as her white hair fell from its braid. It had been two days since they departed from their home.

"Don't worry little one." She spoke softly as a finger traced the black veins  on the little arms. "I will never leave you and I will always keep you safe. Even if I need to die for it."

The baby giggled, swinging his little arms about grabbing for the fingers that held so much comfort and love. She soon gently removed the tiny fingers to reach for a ladle  and dipped it into a bowl of milk.

'You are growing too fast, my dear.' She thought as the little one gulped down the milk and wanted more. 'Soon enough you'll be making me chase you everywhere.'

That made her laugh slightly as the wind outside roared and the ocean rocked the boat like a cradle. The tiny blue eyes closed and the little golden locks shifted ever so slightly. She smiled and leaned back letting her eyes close for the night.

A pale girl with obsidian black hair with white steaks running through it and emerald green eyes laid on her "bed" not even daring to wipe the cold sweat from her forehead. She knew her "gift" was painful and looked to the patch of black on her arm. Her veins were turning black and pain was starting to rush through her body.

She hated this place these people hated her for something she didn't understand all she wanted was to get away from here. But she could move, tears flowed freely from her eyes. This pain was far different and more agonizing then her "gift" from her uncle. She hated them but knew she couldn't fight him she was small. Way too small to stand up against that fat Walrus of man, her brute of a cousin was more like a baby Whale, and her aunt was a horse necked snob.

What had she done to deserve this pain, all those chores and be called a Freak any chance she "did something wrong" or "didn't do something". She didn't even know her own name... why did they never give her one? Why were these people so cruel?

'If anyone can hear me...' she begged, 'Please take me somewhere safe and far way from here. I want to be loved... One last time.'

The pain was overwhelming and her breathing was starting to slow. She could see dark spots begin to form over her eyes as she began to drop into a deep deep sleep. She was unaware a phoenix had wrapped around the girl's body and flamed away.

La Cuna Island

A young boy looked to the sky in worry and fear. Something was wrong and he had to find out what was going on.

"Solis!" A shout brought the white haired boy out of his thoughts. He turned his red eyes to an old man, the elder leader. "What are you doing out here this early in the morning?"

"I can't sleep...." Solis said as the old man sat down beside him. "I keep seeing a girl, she about my age maybe a bit younger. She's hurting and scared. I want to be there for her but I can't get to her, to be of any help at all.."

"It will be breakfast soon," the elder said standing up again. "We should go."

Solis got up and began heading with the elder to their little village.
