That Dark Night

A-n: My computer decided to die on me last night.... So the wrong chapter got published first and I just fixing what I could save on to a flash drive. So the actual first will be done as soon as I can get it fixed....

Godric's Hollow, the birthplace of Godric Gryffindor, is home to many famous wizarding families such as the Dumbledore's. It was where James and Lily Potter decided to raise their twins: Hadrian "Harry" James Potter and Aria Mela Potter. Aria had her father's black hair and her mother's eyes while Harry looked like his mother with his father's eyes. The Potters were currently in hiding due to a prophecy, given by Sybil Trelawney, about a child who would bring an end to Voldemort.

It said, "The one born to destroy the Dark Lord approaches. Born to those who have thrice defied him; born as the seventh month dies."

Albus Dumbledore had thought he had heard the fully prophecy and convinced the Potter and Longbottom family to go into hiding with the Fidelius charm. Similarly, Severus Snape-Prince didn't hear the full prophecy and rushed to tell the Dark Lord. The Potters wanted to make Sirius Black the secret keeper, however Sirius thought that he would be too obvious and suggested that they choose Peter Pettigrew. The only people privy to this change were the Potters, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, and Albus Dumbledore.

In retrospect, not hearing the full prophecy would be a costly mistake for Albus Dumbledore. The full prophecy stated, "The Light shall forsake the Chosen One, she will be reborn by the love of many and the bird of scared fire. An ancient darkness must be kept underneath the skin, and the Protector remains at the Carrier's side. She will bring an era of peace through the union of Light and Dark. The black spot spreads through hate and violence. She will destroy that darkness that is horrible but her own darkness will try and spell the end of all we know. The world may know true peace and an era of unification under the rule of the Child of Embers. Or maybe the darkened end will consume all in its path."

When James held his daughter noticed that her veins had a black tint running her heart to her tiny shoulders. This must have been the black spot, but he had no way to be sure. Harry always screamed and threw toys at Aria who had been playing with Peter in his rat form. She loved that form as Peter listened to her and was a mystery as to how. Peter even bit Harry when the boy shoved his twin sister away from the rat animgus and tried to squeeze the life out of him with a hug.

Even Dumbledore was stumped on this change that Peter was showing. The old man used magic to figure out what was going on and Peter was attached to something inside of the girl. The inky black darkness that ran through her veins and the rat animgus was responding to her, somehow. The only thing that became clear was one thing; it was an ancient blood curse that couldn't be fixed or stopped by magical means. The Prima Macula, the first corruption of man.

Peter placed his own blood on Aria's in the shape of a circle, this way he could find her when she called him.

A lone hooded figure was walking up the street towards the Potter Cottage. He paid no mind to the muggle children dressed in Halloween costumes running past him. He walked down the dim lit street, his partner Nagini following behind him. Nagini was a victim of being a maledictus. However, Voldemort pushed the limit of magic and broke the curse allowing her to turn into a snake at will. She walked alongside him much to her disgust. Nagini used to respect Tom but now she couldn't stand the sight of the monster he became. She was also a descendant of Salazar Slytherin due to her ability to speak Parseltongue. The Fidelius Charm was broken as he made it to the front gate. For extra security measures, he put up anti-apparition and anti-portkey wards around the house. Approaching the front door, he flicked his wrist making the door unlock and open. He told Nagini to stay outside while he dealt with the Potters. Entering the house, he was encountered by James.
