Lyla Blake's P.O.V.
Gasps echo through the room. Sgt. Jones's hand goes up covering her open mouth. She walked towards me slowly raising her other hand up to my face barely touching my face. It wasn't much pressure but it was enough to make me wince and flinch back.
"Emmett sweetie, go get the first aid- kit please." She whispered, Emmett heard her hushed voice and nodded before walking out of the room.
"Who did this and I know you could defend yourself against a lot of people so either you didn't fight or the other person looks heck of a lot worse?" She asked.
"It was three girls at school. I didn't fight back because I didn't want to draw attention to myself when I won so I took the hits. I didn't want to be known as 'The New Girl Who Beat Up Miss Popular'. I might attract attention that I really don't want right now." I said quietly looking at the floor.
"Wait, Miss Popular? Did she have red hair and have two other girls following her around? Did she actually, and I'm being totally honest here, look like one of the girls from Mean Girls? I'm also guessing that she told you to stay away from me and Emmett." Parker said his voice filled with venom. I looked at him as he got off the couch and walked over to me and Mrs. Jones. I laughed at his description of the girls.
"Yeah, that's what I thought when I first saw her. That's the reason she beat me up too." I said.
Just then Emmett walks in carrying a white box which I assume is the first aid- kit and gives it to his mother. She says a quick thanks and turns back to me with a concerned face. Parker turns to get Emmett attention.
"It was Aubrey and her stupid little minions. She did this because Storm was hanging around us today." He finally says his voice filled with anger and frustration.
"I want you to promise me, you have to promise me that if she tries this again you beat the snot out of that girl! If shes the same girl that I've heard so much then she won't be the one to tell that she lost a fight. I don't care how much attention you get! You have been through too much to be finally away from those people just to get hurt again because a stupid girl doesn't want you around two guys she's got a crush on." Tami says fiercely then whispers the last part.
"I promise and thanks for the first aid kit. I'll be in my room if I'm needed. Call me when dinner is ready." I say quietly taking the box from her and smiling at the rest of the family then making my way up the stair to my room.
I stand in my bathroom with all wounds but the ones on my right arm and face fixed.
"Crap!" I hiss as I drop the rubbing alcohol bottle for the third time. Two knocks come from my room door which isn't all the way closed. I should really close it next time.
"Storm? Dinner is ready... are you okay?" Parker says rounding the corner and standing at the door of my bathroom.
"Yeah, okay, I'll be done in a bit. Tell them not to wait for me." I say still focused on pouring the cold liquid on my cuts and bruised arms.
"Do you need some help? You look a little distressed. Won't it hurt when you poor that on it anyway?" He asks raising and eyebrows. I watch him through the mirror and sighs and give in.
"Yeah," I say giving up on trying to do it my self. I turn around and sit on the counter letting Parker take the bottle of rubbing alcohol and a washcloth.
"and it does hurt but I've been through much worse." I say quietly and emphasizing 'much'.
He looks up at me and chuckles. "Tough one are you?"
