Tommy's mother was a beautiful, kind, young woman. She was only 17 years old when she had given birth to a young girl named Nataly and two years later she gave birth to a little boy named Thomas Raymond Anderson Jr. Thinking back now he couldn't remember the rest of his sister's name. He wanted to think it was Nataly Jean, but wasn't sure. Unfortunately, tommy's mom had gotten terribly ill. She had been diagnosed with something that he wasn't sure how to pronounce. Her and his father began fighting soon after. Though tommy was only eight he remembered it being something about her being so sad, and them not having enough money to pay for their water.
Tommy remembered her being so sad she would sit alone in her bed late at night crying and muttering words about something like; family, money, argue, dying. In one of his particular memories he awoke and heard "Why does he hate me lord? ... (Inaudible)...For what does he wish form me? ...he's so angry I can't do anything about this...Thanks for listening." Tommy had wondered who she was talking to, but now knew she was praying.
Father had always been concerned about his cars. They were classic cars he'd bought offline and restored. Tommy was promised a 1969 dodge charger that was blue with two black stripes along the sides. It was this reason Father put a "CarCareCam" in the the cars. This system allowed several cameras on different angles of the car. One day on the way back from school shopping tommy had just woken up. As he woke he heard his mom speaking into a cell phone camera. "I love you all, and I don't want to hold you all back, so I need to take care of myself if I don't you will be worthless, I hope the kids make it out alive". As she pressed the button she switched lanes and swereved their car in front of a large silver pickup truck. The smash left him dazed and confused.
When he come to he was upside down hanging from his car seat. He looked around still puzzled. He saw his small sister. Blood dripping from her head, impaled in many places. He screamed, his mother young and pretty sat upside down, and blue in the face staring out the smashed window. He began to cry so hard he blacked out again. He awoke again in the hospital his father by his side. He frantically asked, "Where's mommy, and Nataly?" his father slowly stared at his son. A tear dripped from his eye. "They didn't make it tommy-boy, your mom just passed last night." He said quietly. "You mean, they died?" Tommy asked. "Yeah, I guess Tommy" he replied "They died, they're happier now" Through the tears Tommy asked "How long have I slept?" "About a week, I think" said father.
Five days later tommy stood at the side of his mother and sisters casket. Crying and wanting to wake from such a horrid dream. He and his father had said some words about his mother, tommy insisted being he was ten years old. Though he cried most of the speech he said only nice things about his diseased sister.
It was then his father did the same routine each night. Tommy recorded it in his notebook four days in a row to see if it was the same. Here's how it went
1. Come home set cooler near the fridge
2. Retrieve the bag of chips on the top shelf
3. Grab two cans of beer
4. Sit in the lazy boy
5. Turn on the tv to channel 4 news
6. Open the bear
7. Drink
8. Watch television
Tommy once asked his dad why he did this "Why, you, beer, and money's all that matters to me" he'd say each time he asked about this routine. All the groceries where delivered and shopping was done on the internet. Some nights his father would just drink for hours, ounce tommy sat up all night. Father rarely moved. He would keep mixing a coca cola and a shot of "Jack" as dad called it. He even offered tommy a drink but tommy refused seeing this is what it did to his father. Once though tommy took the bottle of Jack and dumped it down the drain. His father came home and had more.
