"FOREST ILLUSIVE"
DANGER! NO TRESPASSING!
ENTRANCE IS EXTRICTLY PROHIBITEDAs I read the sign on the fence I get goosebumps and suddenly feel this is a bad idea. I'm about to walk out on my mission but then I remember how hurt Christy was, how the children have faith in me, I remember the promise I made them. The promise I swore to myself. I take a deep breath and gather all my courage. As I step closer I notice the fence is old, rusty and damaged. Some of it is broken, there is a hole big enough for a person to fit through it. I crouch so that I'm able to go inside.
As soon as I enter I feel an ominous aura, and fear begins to swirm inside of me. I take out my compass and begin talking to myself as most people do when they're anxious or scared. It's alright. This is just a regular park forest and nothing could go wrong. You're gonna find Link quickly and then come back and everything will be okay. I take out some red paint and make sure to mark the trail I make by painting a letter "E" in trees every meter or so. I try to walk straight, but if I have to turn I make sure I paint a little arrow in a tree to tell me were I turned.
As I walk deeper into the forest, the amount of trees, along with their size increase. Okay I'm a crazy child. There's no way I can rescue Link even if he was here. I'm just gonna get my self lost as well. If the police doesn't come in here, it must be because it's dangerous, dangerous enough for them not to go in. So what in the whole world of mysteries am I doing here? I'm such an idiot.
I am about to turn around and walk away, when I spot something interesting on the ground. I remove the leafs from it and reveal a pair of glasses. I pick them up and wipe them. These are glasses I've seen before. Glasses I see every morning. Link's glasses. Link is indeed in here. I was right. Well if the glasses are here, Link must be near."Link" I say loud enough for him to hear me if he were two meters away from me. I only hear my breathing. I take a few steps forward and call out again, a little louder this time, "Link!" After a couple of seconds of silence I hear something moving from behind a big bush. I get scared. I take out a pocket knife I took from my dad, "Link?" I gulp and then a dog sticks it's head out the bushes. I stare into its eyes and it stares back, "Hey there doggie. Have you seen Link?"
It sticks it's head back inside. A second later it comes out completely. It looks somewhat like a dog, except it has several fluffy tails and spikes running from the top of it's head down to it's back. It occurs to me that it will attack me but there is a peaceful look in it's eyes. It comes towards me and I flinch, but it only smells my hand, licks it and sits in front of me. After a couple of minutes of petting him, I conclude he is friendly
"So where do you think Link is at?" I hold out the glasses. I didn't actually expect him to answer, but he smells the glasses and then sniffs his way slowly through the forest. I quickly follow him. We walk through the forest a long way, and stop in front of a river. The animal stops beside it and so do I. Dang it, it's a dead end. Maybe he's around here.
"Link!" I yell, "Link!" After calling out in vain several times I sit on a big, round rock, at the edge of this river. I decide maybe I should clean his glasses, so I reach for them in my pocket and bend down to wet them a little, then dry them with the hem of my t-shirt. They look a lot better, and in good shape, they do have a tiny scratch on the bottom of the left lense though. Without thinking I put them on. Instantly my vision becomes funny, it's because I don't need glasses. I take them off after a couple of seconds. I retrieve them inside my backpack. I realize I'm hungry so I take out the Mini Wheats, grab some and eat. I notice the sun has moved pretty quickly so I check the time, it's fifteen before four. Have I really walked a lot? Or am I just slow? I look around for the ninetailed puppy and see him sniffing the edge of the river it howls, and starts jogging away in the direction the river's taking.
"Hey! Wait for me!" I jam my cereal back inside, pull the bagpack over my shoulder and run to catch up with it. It stops suddenly, and I catch my breath. It's almost a miracle I didn't trip in the rocky path. Then I look up in front and about twelve feet away I see someone sitting on the floor tied to a tree. I look closely and I realize it's Link!
