A couple of days have passed since Link is gone missing. It is Saturday, the episode of the announcement was published on Thursday. I'm at home doing research of cases on people getting lost in California. Eventually I stumble into a series of articles about people disappearing into the same forest. The forest is called Illusive. I Google Forest Illusive. After a while of reading I find out that the forest was closed to the general public in 1976 after the report of two children getting lost in there. Turns out several people who went into the depths of this forest, we're never found. At first you could play on its outskirts, until several people reported appearances of weird creatures, at first these were simply noted as illusions, (which gave the forest it's name) until appearances became too recurrent and they completely shut off it's entrance.
What if Link is somewhere in there? Nah, he couldn't be. But it's been days now and they still can't find him. I'm a mythical beast, I can't just sit here staring at my tablet, I need to try and find him. The only place they wouldn't search is in there. No one dares to. I have to take the challenge. I have to try to save Link. I can't simply give up!
I take out my biggest backpack and start filling it in with things I might need. A mini emergency kit, four cans of food, a can opener, two lamps, a portable charger, batteries, matches, water bottles, a pocket knife, a rope, insect repellent, soap, an extra pair of clothes, I take a shirt from my dad just in case Link needs to change. I take the remains of the Mini Wheats. I take paper towels, a compass, GPS, a blanket (I wanted to put two blankets, but they didn't fit) and practically everything I thought I might need. Then I put on my black mythical sweater, and a jeans jacket on top, I put on my mythical hat, mythical socks (I had two extra pairs of mythical socks in my backpack) and then I put on my mythical camo shoes.
Then I take one long look at the mirror and laugh. There is a seventeen year old girl who's face looks thirteen, big black eyes, dark hair and bangs, funny nose and thin long lips. Just what do I think I'm doing? I can't go to that forest, it's too risky, nothing guarantees he'll be there, and what can a little girl like me do? Nothing. Forget it.
I go out to the nearest Starbucks buy a coffee and chill. Later I go around putting signs of Link's pictures, that say he is lost, they have my phone number on them. I kinda feel stupid putting up signs like he was my pet or something, but there isn't much I can do. Before I realize it, it's dark, I ask a person what bus can take me home and then wait in its stop. It's taking long, but I shouldn't walk home when it's this dark. As I'm waiting I begin to think Link is indeed lost in that forest, but no one wants to look in the Illusive woods or whatever they're called. I keep on thinking about this, if Link is there, he needs help. I can't wait for someone else to find him, I really should go. What would I tell my parents anyway? They'd never let me go, I can't lie or leave without saying anything because they'll worry. But Link's life is in danger. I must try. I must be my mythical best.
I don't realize it until I wake up, but I had fallen asleep with all those thoughts, I panick and I check the time on my watch; 2:35 am. Forget the bus, I take off running. My parents are gonna kill me! How could I have fallen asleep that long? Why didn't anyone wake me up?! Nobody will believe me I fell asleep.
The doors of my cousin's house are unlocked, I quietly step inside. The lights are off. Since I have a great vision in the dark, I go upstairs without turning on the lights. I go to the bedroom that had been given to me. My efforts of entering unoticed are in vain my father is sitting on my bed. I don't think I've ever seen an angrier look in his face than the one he is wearing now.
"Daddy I'm sorry" I plead.
"Where have you been!?!" He says standing up.
