Tris

I heard a knock at the door and I put my curling iron away in it's place. I fix my dress and spread it out within underneath my fingers. I look in the mirror and fluff my hair. Hoping to please my new neighbors. This is so weird I can't even explain it. I shut the bathroom light off and come out to see Sky answering the door. She's welcoming them into our home.

I meet eyes with Morgan and Zayd and give them a welcoming smile. "Hey guys! Good to see you. This is Skylar." I say and do a motion in between the two. "Are you guys partners in the relationship aspect?" Morgan asks with a tight smile. Sky bursts out laughing and I giggle. "God no. She's like my daughter. Always doing something wild." She said and returned the same fake smile that Morgan gave us. "Let me show you guys to the kitchen." She starts walking.

We start walking and I see our cats coming by. "Oh! My bad uh, that's Theodore, Simon, and Kenji. We don't like Alvin because he gives off to much main characters vibes." I said to Zayd and I watch him laugh. "You always did hate the main characters." I would turn and look at him. "Maybe I wanted to be the main character." Zayd looks at me and gives me a smile. "You were my main character for a long time." I blush and giggle. While Morgan continues talking to Sky.

They all sit down and I bring out the penne. "I hope this is alright. It's my signature dish." Morgan just stares at it and then looks up at me. "It looks so... middle class. Where are your chefs!" Sky starts laughing. "Chefs? We're college students we don't have chef's quite yet." She said and started eating. "It looks amazing, babes." Sky told me, reassuring me. She was always good at that so, I really appreciate it.

I take a seat and start making my plate. I grab the wine and pour myself a glass. "So, if you don't mind me asking." I take a sip. "What do you do for work, Morgan?" I ask and looked at her. I was genuinely curious. She would do like a middle school chuckle I couldn't quite place and she looked at me. "I don't work. I'm not a working girl. Besides, manicure is way to precious. Judging based off your hands, it's not to bad. What do you do?" I swallow the lump in my throat.

"I write books. I have my own publishing company not to far from here." I explain respectfully. Zayd's eyes lit up and I can tell from here. "Wow. I couldn't be more proud of you, Trix. I mean Tris." I give him a smile and mouth a thank you. It's been a while since I've heard that nickname. I gather the plates and begin washing the dishes.

Sky helped cook so, I'm not holding her accountable of helping me clean tonight. These were my guests so, it's only fair. I start doing the dishes and Zayd comes in. "Hey Tris. I uh wanted to give you something." He says and taps something on his hand. I finish doing the dishes and dry my hands off.

"Yeah, of course. What's up?" I say. The chemistry is still there and I highly doubt it would leave any time soon. He still looked fantastic. He hands me a small envelope. "I want you to come to the wedding." He says and sighs. He leans in. "I know it may be a little inconvenient for you but, it would mean a lot to me if you were there. Or even if its not the wedding we both planned out when we were kids. I will always love you." He kisses my cheek and then steps away. "I'm gonna take her home but, I hope to see you at the wedding. Have a good night, Tris." He says and leaves. I stand their in shock.
