I gripped the handle of my hammer, taking another look to the empty doorframe of my shop. I have no actual door, which allows me to know that someone has been passing by the entrance repeatedly. I'm inclined to believe it's the same person because I'd never seen anyone with a hair color like that in the town. Must be a traveler looking for a weapon.

With a shrug, I decided to ignore it. They'll come into the shop when they see fit. Not like I'm in need of customers in the first place, I'm still not done with last week's orders. When I began slamming my hammer onto the metal I had on my anvil, I could see movement in the corner of my eye again. Then again. And again. Alright. I no longer wish to ignore it. This is going to drive me insane.

"Do you need something?" I questioned, making my voice loud enough for whoever it was to hear.

My question was answered by a man clearing their throat and coming into full view in the entrance of the shop. A green haired man. One of his eyes are sealed shut from a large scar. With a glance down, I could see that he had two swords at his hip. Maybe one of them is damaged.

I expected him to say something, but he didn't. "Are you going to answer my question?" I asked after a minute of him just standing there.

He cleared his throat again and nodded, "Yea. I'm missing a sword right now, so I'll need a replacement."

Missing a sword. He has two already, yet he is missing one. "Alright. A single sword. Do you need anything specific on the hilt or sheath?" I questioned. I'm not keen on knowing too much about the reason for this order or how many swords he has. I just need to be paid.

"No, it can look however it needs to, I just need it to be strong enough," he clarified. Creative freedom.

I walked over to him. He let me approach. "May I?" I voiced, my hand motioning to the swords on his hip.

His one eye glanced between my hand and my face briefly. "Yea," he confirmed. I grabbed the white sword off of his hip.

The sword is definitely of high grade. And he's clearly familiar with it. It's a good size for him. I'll have to make the sword about this size. I looked up from the blade to make eye contact with him. "I must warn you; I'm known for forging cursed swords. Will that be alright?" I asked as I sheathed the sword, handing it back to him.

He grabbed the sword from my outstretched hand and broke eye contact with me to place the sword back on the sling with the other one. The second sword is cursed, it's easy to tell from a look. "It's fine, I can handle it," he responded. He didn't bring his eyes back to mine. "I'll need it in a week's time. I'll be leaving by the end of this week."

The corner of my lips tugged down a bit as I stared him down. "You wanna be on my high priority list? Gonna be extra," I grunted.

"Right," he replied, taking a gold necklace out from the opening in his kimono. He held it out for me. When I grabbed it, I could tell it was worth quite a bit of berry. "I'll pay whatever else I need when the sword is done." I tossed the necklace into the air and caught it, my frown disappearing. "We've got a deal," I told him, my teeth showing with the smirk that stretched across my face.

He cleared his throat again and turned to leave. He lifted a hand just above his shoulder to give me a farewell wave. "I'll be back in seven days then," he said and walked out.

After a second of me looking at the empty doorframe, I turned around and grabbed the handle of my hammer in my gloved hand. He seemed stiff. It may just be my imagination. "Seven days, huh?" I muttered, throwing the hammer into the air and catching it a few times. "That'll be enough for a couple swords."
