everyone saw as the group walked into the room, only missing one person, the bandanna guy, but he hadn't mattered that much, he was new anyway. aguni went to get medical help for the right side of his face that had been sliced into, it needed to be cleaned, chishiya walked away, not seeing any point in being there, he had some stuff to figure out. tatta had already left, now the only person left was kana, who was stood in the middle of the room, watching as people stared at her, she wasn't surprised, she was covered in blood. ann walked towards her, leading the girl out of the room.

as she had walked in kana had wide eyes, she seemed to be in shock from what she had just done , she had killed someone, of course that person would have killed aguni had she not intervened, but it seemed to have hit her that she had just killed somebody, she had ripped a person's life away from them and reality was finally starting to set in. ann had of course noticed her shocked state as kana entered the room and moved to help her quickly, leading her towards her room, she would've taken her down to her 'office' but she doubted that the dead bodies there would help her current situation.

ann sat kana down on the edge of her bed, grabbing a rag and running it under some water to clean the blood from her face.

they both sat in silence, ann had always pitied kana, being so young and being put through this. ann had watched kana change drastically, she had watched her giggly, happy personality completely disappear, replaced by a cold and distant demeanour, she wished she had the facilities to help the girl, but ann truly didn't know what to do and she hated that. she hated that she couldn't do anything to help her.

"i-i'm sorry" kana whispered as tears began to drip down her face as she stared at her lap, ann wasn't sure whether kana was talking to her or just talking to herself, but kana kept repeating those words, as if she was going mad from the sheer amount of guilt that she was feeling.

ann looked at her, pulling the younger black-haired girl into a tight hug, whispering reassuring words into her ear in attempts of comforting her, ann hadn't heard the girl speak for what felt like years, one day she just completely stopped interacting with anyone, but today seemed different, maybe the guilt of killing innocent people was getting to her, or maybe it was the pressure of the deadly games which were getting to her.

kana was once again was sat on the roof of the beach, alone in the dark as she looked down at everybody loudly partying by the pool, drinking and doing drugs until they would either collapse or pass out, both men and women having public sex. this 'utopia' was all fake, kana knew it and only a select few others knew it too, this so-called paradise was merely a manipulation, they were being manipulated by hatter for his own selfish desires, he made them think that everything was perfectly fine, that it was okay that people were dying every single day in these stupid games. because they all got bed's and food and whatever their hearts desired.

but it's all fake, kana knew hatter didn't care about what any of them wanted he just wanted to collect cards so he could return to the old world, he doesn't care if anyone has to die in the process. as long as it isn't him.

kana had earned herself the title of being the third highest executive in charge, having a locker key bracelet with the number three carved into the metal plate, kana hated it with a passion, she would happily swap the rank with any other person, whether it was number 10 or 100, kana wasn't even sure if she wanted to leave this world. that, and the number represented on the bracelet reminded kana of the deadly games that they were forced to play in, it reminded her of the people who died and the many deaths that she had witnessed die in front of her.

she wanted to know why, why they had to die and why it couldn't have been her, none of those innocent people deserved death, they should've survived for so much longer.

kana once again felt tears stinging her eyes, threatening to fall down her cold cheeks, she was sick of this life, but then she had no reason to return to her old one, why should she, she had absolutely nobody, at least here she could be freely alone without being judged for it, she thought back to when she got back from the last game, when she had let her walls crumble slightly, she had let ann see her being weak, and she hated that, she had been avoiding the woman all week, in fact, she had been avoiding everyone all week, she hadn't left the roof at all, she wasn't eating, sleeping, she wasn't doing anything, she just sat there.

hatter hadn't bothered her either, not sending anyone up to get her for any meetings, anyone who knew the girl before she became like how she was now, would know that she needed time, she had let herself become vulnerable in front of somebody other than herself and she was embarrassed and ashamed, she felt like a burden and she needed time to get over it.

hatter was giving her until the day before her visa expired until he'd force her out of her solitude, it wasn't a lie that he needed her. she was skilled in the games, and she was good at collecting the cards, he needed her sharp mind and her skills to collect cards for him. he couldn't let her die, not yet anyway.
