after another week of doing nothing but staring up at the sky, watching as it would change colours, kana finally left the roof. she could've stayed up there longer if she had really wanted to, she still had another two weeks on her visa, for a while now she had been going out to the games everyday and she had been collecting the days in case she ever broke a bone or something serious happened to her and she needed time to recover before joining another game.
but kana had always hated feeling useless, and sitting up on a roof all day everyday wasn't really helping anybody out. she wasn't joining a game just yet, but she'd at least show her face at one of the meetings or something.
it was night time, and once again hatter and the executives were sat in a meeting about all of the cards, kana had heard it all before, multiple times.
she rested her chin onto her hand which was lent on the table out of boredom, she had tuned out hatter's voice and was instead listening to the tapping of her finger on the table. she was sat at the table in between niragi and last boss, both of whom had their weapons proudly on show, niragi had his gun practically cuddled to his chest, last boss had his sword rested on his shoulder.
kana couldn't help but admire his tattoos, the tattoos which adorned his whole body, she thought they looked beautiful, as much as everyone else would talk about them, about how he looked weird and insane, how they were unacceptable, she admired that he was brave enough to get them, despite knowing that they wouldn't be accepted by everyone, she still thought that he suited them.
but, alas, she would never tell him that, in all honesty she was actually quite scared of the guy, he was quite intimidating, there had been many glaring contests between the two, most of which he had won.
kana would never call them friends, hardly even acquaintances, but they did have a mutual respect for one another, kana admired his tattoos and his skill with his sword, he admired her cold demeanour, and how she hid her true feelings from everybody around her, in a way she reminded him of himself.
kana was more scared of niragi, but in a way she did pity him, she didn't think that he had always been so psychotic and murderous, so cold-blooded. something had obviously made him that way, she didn't exactly know what, and she didn't exactly care either, as long as he didn't come after her then she didn't care about his life. in fact, she truly didn't care about what happened to any of these people, whether in their past or futures, she wasn't bothered. she had the mentality that everyone should look after themselves and not rely on others, if they die then they die and the same goes for her, if she ends up dead then there's nobody to blame but herself.
at least that's how she thought of things.
just as hatter was about to talk about the face cards again, a message came through on one of the walkie talkie's that people had been given to communicate. the sound of the message shocked her from her trance, she decided to listen, wondering what it was about.
she listened as hatter was told that two people had followed some beach members back and were spying on the beach, they then asked hatter what they should do about it, to that question he told them "bring them here, who knows, they could be of some use to us"
kana rolled her eyes, soon after, the meeting finally ended and they were all dismissed seeing as the two new-comers wouldn't wake up until the next morning anyway, kana had to admit that she was interested in them, nobody had actually had the initiative to find the beach on their own until now, she wanted to know more about them, her curiosity was getting the best of her and she decided to check them out in the morning when hatter introduced them to the beach.
kana left the room, she was tired and pretty much planning to just go to bed and get some much-needed rest, but her plans changed when she was grabbed by the wrist and pulled around the corner, she didn't even look who it was before she kicked them in their 'private area' and pulled her arm away.
it was dark so she couldn't entirely see who it was, she could tell it was a guy because of how he crumbled down onto the floor, as her eyes adjusted to the dark she saw the white hoodie, and the greyish hair, she almost found it amusing that it was him that she had attacked.
but, in all fairness, he was the one who had startled her, was there really any need to grab her and pull her away without even saying anything first, there was no need to be so aggressive and mysterious.
it took a minute or so for chishiya to recover and to stand back up, she looked at him expectantly, waiting for him to speak or to explain.
"what did you see on that piece of paper that i can't" he asked her, she returned a blank stare, is that really all he had wanted? he didn't have to go to all of that trouble just to ask her that. she was actually quite disappointed, that was just so dull and so boring, she had been expecting something so much more interesting, especially from him.
instead of answering him verbally, she once again just shrugged, yes she knew what the messy scribbles depicted, but A: she didn't care about whatever it was on the paper and she didn't particularly want to speak to chishiya, she wouldn't waste her breath on him and B: if he couldn't figure out what the scribbles were then it's his own problem, she wasn't just going to give him the answer.
"don't shrug, i know you know, i saw it on your face when you looked at the note, what is it" he asked her once again, and she once again shrugged, internally laughing about how pathetic he was acting, like a child having a tantrum, she was finding it beyond amusing.
he huffed, massaging his forehead with one of his hands, he was already growing sick of her and he wished to be anywhere but around her. her face remained blank but in her head she was finding this hysterical, but she soon grew bored when he didn't say anything, and she was still tired, so it seems she granted his internal wish and left him alone, retiring to her own room to sleep.
