"Wow! What a boring day it is." You said to yourself.
You have been laying on your bed and staring at the ceiling since you woke up which has been like one or two hours. Boredom has been your worst enemy ever since your mother died. Your daily life has been a repeated pattern for almost two years now. Waking up, taking a bath, eat breakfast, lock yourself at the library, eat lunch, train yourself, eat dinner, bathe again, and then sleep. This week was different though. You decided to temporarily stop your daily repeated pattern but now you're starting to regret it because you got nothing in your mind of how you would spend it.
After hours of talking to yourself, you finally got the courage to get up then entered the bathroom to take a bath, obviously. After taking a bath, you dried yourself and wore your usual outfit. You carried your black cloak and veil then head downstairs while brushing your hair. When you reached the kitchen, you lazily prepared your own breakfast or, should you say, lunch. You can actually use your powers but you prefer cooking. You can't risk accidentally poisoning yourself again. Yep, 'again'. You accidentally poisoned yourself when you were thirteen or fourteen years old. Let's just say, you were just experimenting with the first-ever food you created using magic completely forgetting the fact that you held dark magic. Fortunately for you, your mother was at home and saw you coughing while vomiting in the kitchen. You were saved from your near-death experience but not from your mother's punishment. When lunch was cooked, you decided to eat at the counter because the dining room is in the other room. You were too lazy to walk few more steps.
After eating, cleaned the counter then washed the dishes, making sure no cutleries were left to clean, you brushed your teeth after that then went outside. You stood outside your doorstep for few minutes making sure you didn't forget anything, especially your staff, before shifting into an eagle. You flew east for no exact reason. It was a silent flight but your mind was loud, as always. It kept on thinking of random things and mentally complimenting the view. That was until you reach a gloomy lake, the Dismal Lake actually. Feeling tired of a long flight, you searched for a place to land. You finally found a perfect place, behind a fully grown tree near the entrance of the place. You landed safely, shifted, and signed loudly while slowly sitting on the root of the tree.
"Did you hear that?" A voice from few meters away echoed causing you to almost fall off from where you are sitting.
"Ready yourself." Another voice replied.
"Why does this feel like déjà vu?" The first voice asked.
You got out from your hiding spot and slowly showed yourself to make sure not to scare them. When you were fully out, you saw two dwarves in their defensive stance. The one with orange and curly hair was holding a frying pan while the one with blonde hair was holding a mirror and was wearing an invisible cape. When you walked towards them, they positioned in a fighting stance making you stop on your tracks and step back. That's when you realized you were wearing a cloak, the hood hiding your upper face, and a veil. So you quickly removed the hood of your cloak but kept the veil on.
"Whoa, easy. I mean no harm." You said while raising both your hands.
"What is your name, Milady?" The blonde asked.
"My name's Y/N." You introduced yourself.
"May we know what are you doing near Dismal Lake?" He asked again.
"And where are you heading to?" The orange-haired added a question. "Perhaps we can assist you." He offered.
The blonde nodded in agreement but you just stood there staring straight at them. Something feels off about them and they sound familiar. You thought.
