- On the day of the Ball -
"Ready?" Merlin asked.
"Of course I am."
He opened the door of the carriage and helped you get down. You could've done it on your own if you weren't wearing a gown. The queen insisted that you wear it before you change into the outfit that you'll be wearing for the announcement.
"Y/N! Merlin!" You were greeted by an enthusiastic Snow White as soon as you entered the ballroom.
"Snow, great to see you again." You gave her a gentle hug.
"Same here." She returned the gesture. "The others are already here, we reserve a table for all of you."
"You're not going to seat with us?"
"I would, but I need to be with my father first." She waved at King White who was seated at one of the tables nearby. "Come on, they're waiting."
"Let us escort you, Your Highnesses." You heard someone from behind you.
You looked back to see that Merlin's family was being escorted to the table for the family of the Fearless Seven. Snow dragged you and Merlin to the table reserved for the Fearless Seven. You saw them look up at the three of you as you approached them. But before anyone could ever make a move, you were already wrapped in someone else's arm. And that someone was your one and only twin brother.
"N/N!" Sebastian embraced you tightly.
"Sebastian? Where did you get that nickname?"
"Dad told me that it was what they used to call you." He explains. "And call me Seb."
Jack must've already told the others because they didn't look too confused about the situation. Sebastian and Snow White returned to their tables after a little chat. Soon after, the ball finally started. Snow stepped forward towards the center of the ballroom.
"I know everyone came here for one reason. And that is to see the return of the Fearless Seven. So, I will not waste any more time." She looked in the direction where the members of Fearless Seven sat. "Ladies and Gentlemen of Fairytale Island, the Fearless Seven." She gestured to them at the same time the spotlight focused on them.
"You all might be wondering who is that goddess with them." Snow smiled at your reaction. "She is Y/N, the Daughter of the Great Witch of the East and the Granddaughter of the 5th Greatest Witch of Fairytale Island. She is the sole reason for the return of our heroes. She helped us, along with my Father, break free from our curses. This celebration wouldn't have happened without her." The crowd applaud as Snow's speech ended.
"She exaggerated it." You commented.
"Nope." Pino disagreed.
"Definitely not." Noki joined him.
"You totally fit that description." And of course, Kio.
"Though I didn't know you were a daughter of the 5th Greatest Witch of Fairytale Island." Arthur said.
"Where did she even get that?" You wondered.
"I told her." Jack even raised his hand.
"So, when's the announcement going to be?" Snow suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
"Speaking of, what's going to be our name then?" Arthur asked. "I mean, we can't stick to Fearless Seven when we're eight, can we?"
"How about The Witch and the Fearless Seven?"
"Too long."
"Yeah, almost sounds like a title for a fantasy book."
"Fearless Eight?"
"Sounds odd."
"And stupid. It would seem like we ran out of ideas." You laughed at Jack's comment and couldn't help but agree with him.
"Octet?"
"Octave?"
"Octagon?"
"Oh, come on."
"Give us something without the number eight on it."
"But it would make sense! And wasn't it you who came up with the name Fearless Seven?!"
"You were the first one to agree with it! You even said it was a catchy name."
"How about Curse Breakers?" Snow suggested, cutting off their argument.
"Finally! A decent name."
"Now that's more like it."
"It totally fits us."
"So, it's settled then. We're now officially the Curse Breakers." Merlin declared.
"When's the announcement?" Snow asked once again.
"Now." The others stood up as soon as Merlin answered.
"Hold on a second, isn't it a bit too fast?" You tried to stop them but ended up getting dragged by them, including Snow.
"We've been excited with the thought of having you on the team since we received your letter." Noki and Kio agreed with what Pino said.
"Everyone, may I have your attention please." Merlin, with little effort, caught everyone's attention. "There have been a few changes regarding the Fearless Seven that we would like to inform all of you about. First is the change of our name from Fearless Seven to Curse Breakers."
Various different reactions, mostly confusion and wondering, from the crowd because of what Merlin said.
"Throughout our journey of being under a curse, not only we did realize that we are not so Fearless, but we also have an additional member." Although you tried to hide behind Jack, Merlin managed to pull you towards him. "Ladies and gentlemen of Fairytale Island, I introduce to you all again Lady Y/N of the East. The person who helped us break free from our curses. We believe that she will be a great asset that would help us protect Fairytale Island. With her extraordinary skills in using magic and intelligence, I have confidence that we have made the right decision in taking her in. I, along with the members of Curse Breakers and Princess Snow White, would like to ask you all permission to accept these changes."
After Merlin ended his speech, the crowd went wild with cheers of agreement and excitement. Merlin gave you a little push to the front, signaling you to speak. You waited for the people to settle down before starting.
"Being part of the great heroes of Fairytale Island is an honor. And although most of you have doubt if I am truly capable, I shall prove myself worthy by standing alongside these heroes and fighting every threat that causes harm to anyone. I, Y/N the witch of the Each, swore with my life to protect Fairytale Island with every bit of strength I have."
You bowed at them and with the help of air manipulation, you created a tornado to swirl around you. This was your way of transforming your outfit from a formal ballgown into the outfit that Merlin's mother made. You glanced at her and smiled as she looked back at you. The crowd was awed at the scene and once again cheered and applauded.
That night ended with smiles and the start of the story of the Great Curse Breakers of Fairytale Island was written. This story continues to be written for the next generations, as well as the existence of Curse Breakers. Their children carried the responsibilities of their parents and passed them down to their own offspring with the core lesson that the first generation taught.
"Never judge a person by how they look. We must see through the facade. Because the beauty of one's true self is the fairest of them all."
