THIRD PERSON'S POV.

Dancemania, Dancemania, Dancemania...
If East heard one more word about this so-called dance reality show, she was going to pull her braids out.

"Come on, it could be fun," Henry tried to encourage his friend.

"When are reality shows ever fun?" East rhetorically inquired. "It's just toxicity throughout. Lies, backstabbing, betrayal, trauma, not to mention majority of it is scripted. It's all fake to create drama and break friendships."

"Okay, but that's like real housewives drama. This is dance."

"Ever watched Dance Moms?" She mentioned, and Henry pursed his lips. "Yeah, Nia and Chloe and even Maddie went through the most with that monster of a teacher and those producers. And what was their prize in the end? Trauma."

The two friends were in Studio 1, passing time by stretching on the floor as they spoke up the current spoken topic in TNS—Dancemania. What is it? Oh, just a dance competition TV show where various teams are filmed before and during their competition against each other. So why does East hate Dancemania? Because she's been at The Next Step for majority of her life, the establishment of dance drama.

"All true and valid points, but this could be great exposure for A-Troupe," Henry reminded her.

"Yeah, yeah," muttered the girl as she leaned over to touch her foot. "You excited about your solo?"

"Yeah," he replied, wariness in his tone which caused his friend to raise a brow. "I'd be hyped if my boys believed I got the spot on my own merit. Kingston and Kai think the only reason I got chosen is because Summer was part of the selection process."

"Oh," she muttered in realization. "I know I didn't watch your audition, but from what I heard from Summer and Nick is that your performance was the best choice. You're an amazing dancer, regardless of what the guys say. Don't forget that."

"Thanks. I'll try not to."

"But I kinda get where you're coming from. Richelle wasn't too thrilled about me getting chosen."

"Oh?" Henry responded, though he wasn't exactly surprised. "I'm sorry. Summer told me you were great."

"I was and I deserve this," East began with a firm nod, "regardless of what my girlfriend says."

"Hey, at least she'll have time to cool off while she's at the Absolute Dance convention."

"Yeah, hopefully."
