Rumors spread quickly that Sans was dead. Apparently someone had seen his clothes strewn about the hallway. From the it had spread like I wildfire throughout the ball room. When Zilla heard, she went to her parents for answers. "I know, such terrible news my dear... pity for that Skeleton." Karla put on fake alligator tears for Zilla. "..." Noto didn't say much of anything, despite wanting to reassure his daughter that Sans would be fine. That he was alive, just in critical condition. He told the doctor that he wouldn't tell a soul though, if the perp was easedropping, it could be the end of Sans as they knew it. The Lord sighed heavily. He was about done with this whole ordeal. He didn't want his daughter with someone or multiple someone's who would kill another (or at least try to) for her hand. "Zilla, if you haven't made a choice yet, I'd very much like them all out of my estate..." The young heiress nodded. "I know what you mean... finding a mate had become much more trouble than it is worth. I'm not interested in anyone in this room... so do what you want..." She left the ball room, done with the night.

That's exactly what he did. "All of you, pack your things and get out. The event is over." He had some guards oversee the remaining bachelor's out, Papyrus included. He couldn't find his brother among them though. Nor his father for that matter. As much as he didn't want to leave his post, his family's health was more important to him. He sought out the Lord. Surely he would know where his brother and father was. Maybe Sans was with the lovely Zilla! That would be very good! "What are you doing away from your post?" Noto didn't seem particularly mad, only curious. "I-I'm sorry sir, but have you seen my brother Sans? Or my father for that matter? I know they were here..." Noto started to guide Papyrus. "So your Sans' little brother, hm? I'll bring you to them, just... brace yourself." Papyrus worried instantly. "What happened?" Noto shook his head, sighing. "That's what we are trying to find out." Noto let Papyrus in, the younger rushing to his big brother. "SANS!!!" Dr. Gaster caught him in a firm grip. "He's still in pain, don't." Papyrus whined. "W-what happened?"
"Determination."

Zilla couldn't stop crying. Her best friend, her choice was dead. He'd done it. He'd won over her soul, but before she could tell him, he died... she was devastated. She was better off staying alone if this was how it was going to be, finding love. Karla tried to come in, comfort her daughter, but Zilla couldn't be bothered. What had her mother ever done but complain the entire damn event. Besides, she always seemed to have something against Sans since the very... beginning... was... all those attacks on him... were they...? She didn't want to believe it, this was her mother she was accusing. "Zilla dear, we can try again next year. There shouldn't be anymore problems!"
"Problems you caused?" She stated boldly. "Excuse me?"
"Is it going to be fine now that Sans is out of the way?" Karla's frown deepened. "You better hold your tongue girl-"
"I can't believe you. It's always been about you, hasn't it?" Karla had about enough of this slander, and from her own child nonetheless. "Would you stop being an emotional brat, Zilla?!" The both stopped for a moment as the words sunk in. Zilla shook her head and went for the door. "Don't talk to me, don't come near me." She left Karla alone.
