I slept for most of the day. Being awake all night was tiresome. So I blocked Ellie out and took a nice long cozy nap. When I woke up, Pappy's wolf was barking at me in our private mindlink, reminding me of Cora's introduction tonight. It was Saturday, which meant that I got to have a beauty sleep. I was pretty annoyed at Pappy and growled at him. He roared and then left the mindlink to go sulk at my puppy behavior. "Cora's wolf never acts like this," He tutted before disappearing.

I snarled under my breath at that. Cora's wolf never acted like anything but the golden child in his eyes. Then again, she was his legitimate pup. I was the bastard that no one wanted.

I stretched and looked around, realizing that Ellie was in the middle of completing her homework.Even worse, we seemed to be in someone else's house where the furniture color coded the walls. The smell of lilac filled the air. We were in Finn's house!

"Not again!" I whined, alerting Ellie of my presence.

"Where have you been? Everything alright?" She asked me. I scowled and growled in response, causing her to erupt with laughter.

I nodded my wolfy head and hesitation flickered through her before she turned her attention back onto Finn. The two laughed throughout the night, bonding over anime and other nerdy tv shows. I laid my head on my paws and tapped into the private minlink. Maybe Ellie was right, I was being judgemental.

"Hi," I said to Finn's wolf.

"Hi," A deep raspy voice echoed in my head. God, Finn's wolf sounded ancient. "Some she-wolves would find my voice sexy," Finn's wolf huffed.

I barked in laughter, "Right. When is the last time you visited a doctor?"

Finn's wolf growled at my quip and turned around with his back toward me. Now I knew how Ellie felt in group chats. It appeared that Finn's wolf left the chat.

I let out a sigh, sitting up. "You know, Ellie really likes your human."

Finn's wolf growled, "We are waiting for mate."

"Does Finn know that?"

Finn's wolf went silent and I had my answer. Even though werewolves were both wolf and human, I did not necessarily agree with my human on everything.

"We found our mate. Ellie wants to give everything up, including mate, for Finn."

"Thanks," His raspy voice was cynical, making me narrow my eyes at him. "But no thanks. Finn likes Ellie as well, she is a fun partner. But our mate will have rank. We don't have time for no ranked little wolves."

"Go fuck yourself," I snarled at him before closing the private mindlink. Syn has left the chat. I think Ellie could sense something was wrong with my attitude as I snarled lowly at her until we left Finn's house. Apparently we would be going back tomorrow. I was not looking forward to that.

"Oh shoosh. Help me choose a dress for the ball tonight," Ellie scolded me on our way home. The sun was just beginning to go down and my mate's words echoed in my head. I needed to try and matchmake Ellie and mate together. To do that, Ellie's dress needed to look beautiful.
