Zac
Work was rough today. Beck called off again. This is twice in a row.
Beck's been acting really weird too.
He's been staying up late, chain-smoking, and I've noticed him avoiding me and Joey.
It's not overly obvious, but I know Beck. I know how he acts. And this isn't how he is.
Today isn't any different.
I came back inside to find Beck in the kitchen, Seether playing loudly while he smokes.
Fake, you're more than I can take
And something's gonna break
Get out of my head
No shame, you're passing all the blame
And nothing's gonna change
Get out of my headI introduced him to Seether back in high school.
"Beck?" I asked, grabbing his phone off the counter turning the music down.
He opened his eyes, looking over at me. "Sorry, I didn't know you'd be home so early."
"Where's Joey?" I asked.
"Auditions," he answered.
You've made me realize that it's
All a lie and it comes as no surprise
Stay for a while
Stay 'cause you make me smile
There's no compromiseI took a seat beside him. "You're being weird Beck."
"I'm fine."
"Beck, I know you too well. Don't lie to me." I countered, frowning at him. "You don't listen to Seether unless something is on your mind."
He avoided looking at me. "I'm fine."
"Liar."
"I'm fine, Zac. I just...don't feel good, okay?"
I rolled my eyes, laying my head on his shoulder. "It's because you're smoking more than a fucking chimney in the dead of an Alaskan winter."
He sighed deeply. "I don't want to talk about it, Zackary."
I rolled my eyes. "Is using my full name supposed to deter me?"
He laid his head against mine. "Nothing stops your stubborn ass,"
"Yes,"
His arm came around me tightly.
"Zac,"
I looked up at him.
He swallowed, looking away from me. "I'm leaving."
"What?" I asked.
"Keep Joey safe, and yourself, Zac."
"Beck!" I hissed. "What the fuck do you mean you're leaving?!"
He didn't respond he just got up.
"Beck!"
"I love you, Zac, and Joey. But it's best if I wasn't around."
