It was the calm before the storm.
Law looked out at the dawn as the sun began go rise over the snow-capped mountains of Dressrosa. Honestly he wasn't sure if he was ever going to see the beautiful sight again.
Out of the small party that he and Kid had collected the day before, the samurai was the only one awake at the moment.
The quiet was something he enjoyed greatly.
The soft blanket of snow that surrounded the area had made sure to muffle everything, even the flapping of flags in the early morning wind. The snow of Dressrosa had that effect sometimes.
Stepping out of his shoes, Law walked out a few feet into the snow and then removed his coat, leaving the samurai in nothing but his thin undergarments.
He breathed in the air of his home deeply and closed his eyes, tilting his head to the sky.
The caramel skinned man felt like an innocent child again as the slight weight of snowflakes collected on his long lashes.
Law loved the snow.
He opened his eyes and sighed, watching his breath billow out into the air and vanish.
The sky had lost its bluish hue and was slowly turning from pink, to orange, then finally red.
'Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky in the morning, sailors warning.'
It was something Corazon had told him once when they sat on the roof of the palace.
Law exhaled deeply again and watched the cloud swiftly vanish.
The calm before the storm indeed.
