*Leo's the one narrating the story for the first half*

Piper met Jason, and Jason met Piper. They quickly fell for each other, and lived happily ever after. Haha yeah right! Their relationship wasn't that easy. It may seemed that way with the confusion of the mist, but that's not true at all!

The three of us met at the Wilderness School on a field trip, got attacked by some wind monsters, and the rest was history! We quickly became friends after a few trips to the movies, and some late night drives on the road. But things started to change, once we first got to camp.

You see, I always thought that Jason was a great guy, being his caring and kind self. But after our first quest together, I started thinking of him in a different light. Like he was more than that somehow. But unfortunately, so did Piper.

So, I handled it the best way I could, by not changing a single thing. I'd tease the two of them relentlessly, saying how close they were. Playing the role of the silly designated friend, while the other two were in desperate need of some alone time. But in reality, I actually was forcing myself to acknowledge their mutual interests all this time. Trying to be the supportive wingman, someone who was willing to take a step back.

Jason was more of a reserved guy, and Piper wasn't much bolder either. So, it took a lot of pushing and planning for them to make any progress. At times, I was happy that they weren't getting together, but I knew that those lovebirds sure would try.

I'm sure that one day, things will get better for the two of them. But I can't say the same for me. Once they become official, there won't be an "us" anymore. Just the iconic duo and their classic little sidekick. Because I can talk about Jason for hours on end, longer then the Argo II. But that all means nothing if I can't tell him how I really feel.

The way I see it, it's just the happy couple and their certified third wheel. But I know that I'm more than that. Well, most of the time anyway. It just really hurts seeing them together, but it's better to feel hurt on my own, then to hurt my dear friends.

I guess you could say that I'm more of the silent type. Not all the time of course, with me being as hyper as I am. But sometimes, I'm better at keeping secrets than the others may think. So, I'll continue to keep this love a secret. A secret I'll keep bound to my chest. That is, until he arrived.

One day, Leo was tinkering with some spare parts he found in his tool-belt. Trying to make a small shield and sword model for a new invention. While Jason and Piper were taking a stroll through the strawberry fields.

Once Leo had completed the model, he dropped it into his magical pockets, then set off to his cabin. But just as he was about to enter the hallway, Leo was stopped by a camper he had never seen before.

"Uh hey, sorry to bother you. I'm kinda new around here, and I don't know where anything is. So, could you help me find the Hermes cabin?" The new camper asked hesitantly.

"Oh yeah sure! That's where all the unclaimed start when they first get to camp. Follow me! I was just on my way to my cabin too." Leo replied, smiling brightly.

"Wow really? Great! Lead the way!" The taller boy cheered.

"Alright then uh..." Leo grunted in confusion.

"Oh right, I never told you my name. The name's Eric, Eric Stone. And you are?" Eric replied curiously.

"I'm Leo! Leo Valdez to be exact! Head of the Hephaestus cabin, at your service." Leo exclaimed with a mischievous bow.

Leo led the taller boy through the hallway, telling him all about how great Camp Half-Blood was. Showing him each cabin and pointing at every crest of the gods. Eric was simply captivated by the place, completely in awe at the stories of the gods. But as great as the camp was, Greek symbols and camp traditions wasn't the only thing that held Eric's interest.

"This place is so cool! There's so many campers here, and they all seem skilled too! Y'all got good food, a lava climbing wall, and cool mentors too? What do you not have here?" Eric wondered curiously.

"Access to phones and tablets is one thing. But that's nothing to miss when you have Iris messaging. As long as you got a drachma to spare." Leo replied with a knowing smile.

"For real? That's tough man. I practically lived on my phone! But that would explain all the monster attacks." Eric said, tilting his head in surprise.

"Haha yeah. Phone calls are just like ads to any monster nearby. Like 'Go ahead and eat me! I'm free of charge!'". Leo jested, moving his hands in the shape of a phone.

They both burst out laughing, trying their best not to fall over. The two boys kept joking around, until they arrived in front of the Hermes cabin.

"Alright now, here's your room. You'll be staying here until you get claimed, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. It'll will happen sooner than you think!" Leo explained with reassurance.

"Thanks a lot Leo! I really enjoyed talking with you today. I was so lost when I first got here, so I'm glad that you helped me find my way!" Eric beamed with a grateful smile.

"It's no big deal. I just wanted to help! Besides, there's much more to camp than just the cabins! Like the demigods that live in those cabins." Leo said wholeheartedly.

"Well that makes sense! Man, you sure have a way with words. And you're not bad on the eyes either. I think you're pretty great." Eric swooned with a smirk.

"Umm, you're pretty cool too. A-And nice to look at..." Leo stammered with a blush.

Leo knew that he wasn't interested in Eric, since he was still smitten with Jason. But alas, he still flirted back with Eric anyway. He knew that couldn't keep running after Jason forever, so maybe someone else would suffice in the meantime. But just as Eric and Leo were starting to hit it off, Jason had made his way over to the cabins to find Leo. But to his dismay, he found that Leo had not been alone.
