I sigh and tilt my hat down over my eyes, blocking the warm sunlight that covers the vast valley of the farm. As I lay against one of the only trees in this field, I hear the cries of sheep in the distance.I get up and get on my four wheeler, driving over to see what the commotion is. After a short venture up the pasture, I get off and see what the problem is.
Wolves.
The pack of four wolves slyly walk around the herd of sheep slowly, looking for any weak ones to attack. I grab the little flare gun used for emergencies off the atv and fire it near the wolves.
With a loud whistle and a booming pop, the wolves run away, with one, the alpha, lingering a second longer and staring at me, before turning back and running as the red glow of the flare begins to dissipate.
"God damn wolves" I mutter, tossing the empty flare gun into the case on the atv. I whistle at the sheep to keep them moving, towards a truck.
The truck takes them and other animals to a slaughterhouse, which then sends the meat to Jurassic world, that big overpriced dinosaur carnival that I would never go to.
I meet with Harold, the truck driver that takes the animals. We herd the sheep onto the truck and I close the door, locking it shut.
"Thank you Nate, here's the check" Harold says before handing an envelope to me like he does every time. We nod to each other and the gear jammer drives away.
I open the envelope and pull the check out, putting in my pocket, and seeing something else in the envelope.
I pull the letter out, an invitation letter to Jurassic world's Camp Cretaceous.
AUTHORS NOTE:
Howdy guys! I know it's been a long ass time, I'm sorry, I just haven't really felt like writing as I've had a lot on my plate recently but I am here now. Tell me what you think of this new version of Nathan, and any story ideas. In this version Nathan is not famous but rather a small town rancher, and there will be major changes to the story as a whole, so look forward to that. Thanks for reading!
Nate
