"I need a fake girlfriend by Thursday....and it can't be someone who's already in love with me, because I can't be in a real relationship, and you just happen to be the only girl who hates me enough to be in a only-materialist-gain-relationship with me.", Taehyung said.

Eunji stared at him and scoffed.

"Are you crazy? Yes you must be. How could you ask someone that? Don't you have any conscience? Besides, I know you're always too preoccupied with yourself to know, but I have a boyfriend. And even if you would give me a million dollars, I wouldn't leave him for you, at least. Now, let go of my hand."

Eunji yanked her hand away and left.

Taehyung had never been rejected to anything. Not once. He always got his way about things. Eunji hurt his pride, she shattered his ego. Taehyung couldn't accept the fact that someone else had the higher ground even though he knew this would happen. So he stood there, his jaw clenched, his eyes blazing, as he watched Eunji disappear into the crowd. And then, slowly, he turned and walked away, his head held high, even as his heart crumbled to dust in his chest.

Oh right, her boyfriend.

Eunji pulled out her phone, her hands shaking slightly as she dialed her boyfriend's number. It had been weeks since she'd last spoken to him, since she'd last heard his voice on the other end of the line.

The phone rang once, twice, three times. And then, just as she was about to hang up, he picked up.

"Hello?" His voice was hesitant, unsure.

"It's me," Eunji said, her voice soft and uncertain. "It's Eunji."

There was a pause on the other end of the line, a beat of silence that seemed to stretch on forever. And then, finally, he spoke.

"Eunji? Haven't heard from you in so long..."

His voice was warm, familiar, like a favorite sweater that she'd forgotten she owned. It made her heart ache in a way she hadn't expected, a way she didn't want to examine too closely.

"Can we meet?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know it's been a while."
"Yeah I've been meaning to do the same."
"Okay. See you later."

"Hi!", Eunji stood up smiling.
"Hey..." Minhyuk greeted with a pursed smile.
"How have you been?"
"Fine, mostly..."
"So....what do you want to do today? I think the weather's great for some hot ramyeon with some-"
"Look, Eunji-ah. I have to tell you something."
Eunji looked at him puzzled.
"Yeah sure, go ahead."

"I....I don't know how to say this.....but, I'm in love with someone else."

Eunji stared at Minhyuk, her mouth falling open in shock. "What?" she whispered, her voice barely audible over the soft hum of the café. "What do you mean, you're in love with someone else?"

Minhyuk shifted uncomfortably in his seat, his gaze darting around the room as if searching for an escape route. "I...I met someone, Eunji-ah. Someone special. And I...I don't think I can continue seeing you anymore."

Eunji's heart clenched in her chest, a sharp, painful sensation that left her breathless. She couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"But...but we had plans," she said, her voice cracking with emotion. "How...how could you do this to me?"

Minhyuk reached out, his hand hovering awkwardly in the air between them. "I'm sorry, Eunji-ah. I never meant to hurt you. But I...I have to follow my heart. I can't keep pretending that I don't have feelings for this other person."

"Look, you're an amazing girl, just not for me. You deserve someone better than me."

Eunji felt it hard to breathe. All those words filled with insincerity, just said to protect his image whirred around her head. What? They were together for two years. TWO YEARS. Until two weeks ago he was perfectly fine with her. What had happened?

"What...wh-where did it go wrong-?"
"No no Eunji it didn't go wrong it just-"
"No it's not- I don't want to hear all this, tell me what I... Oh, oh my god."

"Eunji-ah. Come on now. I'll take you home." Minhyuk said taking her by the hand.
Eunji scoffed.
"Forget it.", she yanked her hand away. Eunji jerked away from his touch, her eyes filling with tears. She couldn't believe it. After everything they'd been through, after all the promises they'd made to each other, he was just...leaving her? Just like that?

"Fine," she said, her voice cold and hard. "If that's how it's going to be, then...then I don't want to see you again. Ever."

With that, she stood abruptly, the chair scraping harshly against the cement.

Kim Taehyung was walking down the corridor with a book open in his hands. Suddenly a force repelled him backwards. A pair of arms wrapped around his waist and a face pressed against his chest.

"Jagiya, I missed you!"
