Chapter 10 Home

I couldn't believe I was leaving court after only being here a week.

Will had packed our things as fast as he could, giving me a chance to say goodbye to Izzy.

"I'm so sorry." I cried as we wrapped our arms around each other.

"I never wanted to put you in danger I'm so sorry I can't protect you."

"Nicky stop, all I'm worried about is your safety. I'll be fine, Abels family guardians are great and his parents will keep us hidden, Rose said she will have extra guardians protecting us but she doesn't think we will need it." Said Izzy softly. She would make a wonderful mother.

"I'm meant to be your guardian I should be protecting you." I whispered trying to control my tears.

"And you will when this is all over you will protect us and our children. Like we always wanted our families staying together." Said Izzy giving me another hug before kissing my cheek.

I clenched my fist as the memories came back. I was sitting on the plane we looking out the window watching the sun move across the sky.

"Nicky it will be ok I promise I will keep you safe! Ethan and Thomas will meet us at an airport close to Baia and we will stay with your aunt until Dimitri and Rose can find these freaks." Said Will unclenching my hand and holding is in his.

"I'm so sorry Will I'm sorry I'm doing this to us. If I hadn't have been stupid enough to let myself get turned none of this would have happened." I said bitting my lip and trying not to punch the seat in front of me.

Will turned and pulled my shoulders towards him so we were face to face.

"Nicole listen to me now. Those months were the worst of my life but if that hadn't of happened we would never of been able to have a family and our own lives." Said Will staring into my eyes.

"Will all Iv done is put us all in danger. Iv put Izzy and the baby in danger Iv put you in danger and any child we might ever have." I said softly how could I have a child if I was bringing them into danger.

"Nicole I will hunt down and destroy anyone who tries to hurt you or our family and don't think I wouldn't do the same for Abel and Izzy because I will you are my family and I will keep you safe." Will vowed his face stern.

I don't remember flying over Russia just landing. I was still jet lagged from flying to court and now to Russia my body was messed up.

A black SUV was waiting for us as we got off the plane. Will and I reached for our stakes in our pockets I also felt for the gun on my hip. But as the doors opened two familiar faces got out.

"Ethan! Thomas!" I yelled dropping my bags and running over to them. I ran into my brothers arms and held them both tight.

They both wrapped their arms around me squeezing me tight. Thomas let go first to embrace Will. I held Ethan a little longer as Will and Ethan talked.
Ethan's hair was a shade darker than mine he had our mothers dark brown eyes and looked like a blonde version of Dimitri.

"Causing trouble again Nika" smiled Ethan kissing my cheek.

"Us Conta's are trouble makers" I said smiling back at him. He let out a low laugh before hugging me again lifting me slightly off my feet.

He put me down and let me hug Thomas while he hugged Will.

"Baby sister" laughed Thomas grabbing me in a bear hug And spinning me around. Thomas was also blonde but he looked more like me than Ethan but you could see the Belikov in him when wanted to show it.

"Iv missed you so much." I said as he put me down and I faced them both. We hadn't all been together in a long time not properly. The last time I saw them I had been in and out of consciousness when I turned back.

I was extremely close with them both, Ethan had always been a fierce brother protecting me in any fight even if I had started it, Thomas picked on me more but was just as protective. We had always had a special bond the three of us.

"You've grown up a lot Nika." said Ethan as we packed our bags into the car.

"I'm glad Will has been taking such good care of you."

"Of course I would I wouldn't want to mess with the Conta's" said Will as he came and kissed the back of my head.

"And you know I'm kinda in love with Nic" he laughed. I loved how he was around my brothers it was the first time he had relaxed since we left. He knew if anyone wanted to protect me as much as him was my brothers.

"Only kinda?" I teased as we climbed into the car. Will laughed and put his arm over me as we sat in the back seat.

Ethan chucked slightly before starting the car.

"So here's the plan kids, we have 5 hours to go before we reach aunt Olga's and between here and there are empty patches of road that strigoi hunt. So have we all got our stakes ready? And we will stop as little as possible so we can reach Baia before sunset."

We all nodded and checked our weapons. It didn't matter if we were all family we were still guardians. At my feet was a bag of weapons I chucked a little. I should of known a steak each wasn't enough for my brothers.

My stomach tightened the closer to Baia we got. I hadn't been here since I was little I could still remember the smell of baking in the house and love and warmth in the Belikov home.
