After a long day at work, y/n sighed, flopping onto their bed and sighing. It was rare that they were left with time to themselves at night, but today… well it had just been something else.

Frowning, they pulled their phone out, unlocking it and switching on the screen before looking at it. Today was the splatfest, and they had to deal with the constant noise of celebration. But maybe,, it could be a good wake up?

Just... After a quick nap. They shut their eyes and tried to rest.  "It's gonna be alright…", y/n repeated to themselves as their body fell asleep.

Their sleep ended when they heard a wonderful melody come by bedroom window. The beautiful voices harmonizing together sounded familiar

Deep cut.

They idmeditaly sat up and pressed their face against the glass, and there they saw the idols, Deep cut, the trio showing that no matter your differences, you can exist in harmony.

Y/n was in awe, they were all the beautiful. The blue octoling in traditional Japanese wear, the manta ray, who was just plain adorable and Frye.

Wait...Frye?

"No way…" Y/n thought, pushing their window open and poking their head out. It was already dark out and the night was illuminated by building lights and the floating pedestal that the three idols stood on

Watching their dance made y/n feel so.. inspired..

They bought their head back in and closed the window, they needed to see them, Frye especially. They just couldn't believe their eyes.

It was her.

She looked nothing like what she had been back when they knew each other, she looked strong, vibrant and over all powerful

She looked so happy on that stage, and it was beautiful

Y/n idmeditaly got their shoes on and headed out their room, out of their house. And into the streets

There they saw inklings, octolings and jellyfish enjoying their time.

Everyone was dancing and having fun, except y/n. They were too busy staring at Frye. Her voice was amazing, powerful enough to carry it through the whole town, y/n began walking closer and closer to the pedestal, feeling.. drawn to it.

To them, the music.

Once they were right under it, close enough to see them. They smiled. It was pleasing sight to see, someone they'd hang out with everyday was now popular.

And up on that stage, Frye saw that familiar face, causing her to pause. She was just as shocked as y/n was

But it couldn't be.. could it?

A thousand thoughts went through her mind, but she had to collect herself again, performance, smile, dance.

This was possibly the only chance they would ever get to see each other again.

Or not.

There's gonna be a few more chapters after all.
