chapter eleven

You opened your eyes and got blinded by the light coming from your window. "Tora?" You mumbled as you see a familiar figure standing in front of you. "Did I fall asleep?"

"Hey," he replied, crouching down and smiling softly. Your eyes started to water as you crawled quickly, sat up, and hugged him tightly as if you were a child who just found your lost parents from the crowd.

"I thought... I thought you left me, I was so scared. I thought you abandoned me,"

Kazutora didn't respond and just wrapped his arms around yours, hugging you tightly.

"Please don't do it again. Don't abandon me. Promise me you won't abandon me again."

I'd die first before leaving you.

As he repeats those words, You can feel his body slowly fading away from your arms. "No, no, no, no, no!" you gasped loudly, opening your eyes. A dream? You thought and found yourself, lying on the floor, hugging his jacket that you found in the laundry basket. 

Your head hurts... How long did I cry?

You sat up slowly and reached for your phone to check the time. "9:42 a.m.," you muttered as you stared at your lock screen; it's the photo of his necklace pendant and your bracelet charm. After a while, your vision began to blur again.

You sniffed and with your hands shaking, you dialed his number once more and slowly placed the phone on your ears.

You sobbed loudly, cutting the call. You grabbed his jacket and hugged them tightly. "He's gone... he left me... alone... he broke his promise..."

After a while of staring at the absence, you aggressively wiped your tears and wore his jacket. You forced yourself to get up and ran out of your apartment.

"Rin, come to my party, pretty please? Bring Ran too." A girl with blonde hair said to the young lad with glasses.

"I might come if you can convince me more." He said in a flirty tone. 

The blonde girl smirked as she walked closer. She traced Rindou's chest with her finger. She then opened one of the buttons of his shirt. "Well, if you come, I'll do whatever you want me to do."

"Hmm—" Rindou hummed and was about to respond when his eyes caught you, who was running hysterically on the other side of the road. You're bumping into other people, causing some of them to let go of the things they're carrying.

"Hey! Watch out, you dirty brat!" One guy said, and you haven't even stop to apologize. You're just running while in a daze.

Rindou's gaze fell to your feet, where he noticed that you are wearing a different pair of sandals. Huh, isn't that the girl at the gift shop last Christmas? The one who's all giddy because of love? What's happening to her?

"Rindou?" The girl called, and the young lad lightly flinched. He looked back at his blonde friend and smiled.

You, on the other hand, kept running everywhere. You don't care who you bump into, you just want to find him. He doesn't have money... He can't go far, right?

You went to all of his part-time jobs, and they all said that he quit a day before your birthday, and they don't have any idea where he is right now. You went to all his favorite spots, train stations, bus stops... even police stations and hospitals... everywhere you could think of, but he was not there. You ran around almost half of Yokohama but still, there was no sign of him.
