They had to walk miles.
Eira stood beside Bucky as the whole company of soldiers did so. They walked across frozen ground through the forest and she noticed some people shivering.
She could feel the cold air around her but it had never affected her. So she didn't quite understand what temperature exactly affected people; she didn't know what exactly fit the description of cold.
But then she started to notice Bucky slightly shivering as his breath was visible in the air. She looked up at him in worry, "Is it cold?"
He chuckled as he looked down at her, "What? Are you immune?"
"Yes," she answered in an obvious tone like it was normal before giving him an accusing look. "Next time, tell me when it's too cold."
"Why? What are you..." Bucky paused as she raised her palm up and the air around the whole company suddenly got a whole lot warmer. As it did so, the snow around them started to melt and greenery grew from the trees.
Everyone had stopped to marvel at it as Eira kept walking. Then a bluebird flew out and landed on her shoulder that she smiled at before petting it as the bird chirped happily.
"Where did she come from?" Dum Dum Dugan asked in awe.
"You're telling me," Gabe Jones commented. "Maybe she's an alien."
"Elle est un ange," Jacques Dernier argued.
"English, Frenchie," Dum Dum stated.
"He thinks she's an angel," Gabe translated.
"Now that I can get behind," Dum Dum agreed.
There were hums of agreement among them before Bucky commented, "A beautiful angel."
They all slightly shoved him as Dum Dum stated, "She's out of your league, Sarge."
"That...is very true," Steve chuckled.
Bucky shook his head as he stared at the girl who wore a smile like she owned all of them, "Come on, Steve, have faith."
"I guess I'll pray for a miracle then," Steve teased and the rest of the guys laughed before Bucky rolled his eyes but he was determined to be hit with frostbite.

It was warmer now and everyone was in better spirits as they all talked amongst themselves. Eira held a soft smile as she walked, the bird now gone, before Bucky talked to her.
"So where you are from, doll?" Bucky grinned. (Steve, who was on the other side of Bucky, shook his head at his ability to flirt).
The doll and his easy smile caused her to blush. But she got nervous at the question as she fumbled with her hands in front of her, "Uh...I'm not really supposed to talk about it."
"Why not?" he asked before he grinned again. "Come on, I just want to know how far I'm gonna have to travel to see you."
"You'd...want to see me?" she questioned in a quiet, hopeful voice.
He leaned in towards her a bit as he replied smoothly, "As far as I'm concerned, you are the only thing worth seeing."
She blushed again before she frowned, "But...I'm not allowed any visitors."
