We'd finally gotten back on the road a few minutes ago. We drive by the skatepark, stopping for traffic here and there. Maven lightly slaps my thigh a few times.

"Wait! We have to stop at that playground! Look at these cute kids." He gushes peering out the window. I laugh and nod.

"Okay, okay."

I pull forward and turn into the small lot turning the car off when he gets out. He pulls me by the hand towards the first big drop.

"Holy rabies! This looks like a blast."

I nod,

"It is, it can be a little dangerous though. I broke my wrist one time when I fell off my skateboard doing a jump." I explained as he laughed and nodded.

"Can I try?" He asks, looking at me, I shrug and step to the side. He looks down at a cute little girl,

"May I?"

The bored little girl shrugs. He hops on the bright pink bike and immediately shoots off doing tricks in the air. He does a flip and hangs off the bike spinning before getting back on hitting the ground only to go up again twirling. He makes this shit look like it doesn't take years to master.

He shoots up into the air and fucking walks on the bike. He rides on the electrical wiring before landing on the ground again. I chuckle and look down at the kids as their mouths hang open.

He appears in front of me upside down a moment later the bike appears and he spins around bouncing on the front wheel before getting off. They cheer for him and he unbuckles the pink helmet holding it in his arms.

"I'm married to him." I whisper before winking at Maven who laughs.

"That was sick dude. Where'd you learn all that stuff?" The little girl approaches him and he gives her the helmet back.

"Transylvania."

She looks at him, cocking her head to the side.

"That's cool, I have a cousin from Pennsylvania." She wanders off with her friends after that.

"Awe these little guys are so sweet. Dennis would love them. What an awesome place to raise a kid."

I absentmindedly nodded before realizing.

"To raise a kid? I don't know about awesome. Decent more so. Kids were much meaner back when I was their age." I mumble and walk pace with him as we go back to the car.

"Anyways. We should hit my parents place. I said we'd be there by now."

Maven shrugs and opens the driver door for me. I get in and he closes it for me. He gets in the other side and buckles up.

"Sure. Oh, hey its after 3:00 in Translyvania! I'm gonna check on Dennis, okay?"

The phone rings for a while until Dracula answers it with a close up of his eye.

"Dad, what took so long?" He asks as Dracula moves the phone out a bit to show more of his face.

"What? Nothing Mavey. We're all great here at the hotel. Just doing hotel things."

He glares at someone off screen.

"Sorry, can't handle your breath.I hear ya-- how're you?"

Maven grins at his phone.

"We're having a blast. We just went biking and mini-marting. It's so fun here. Is Dennis okay?"

"Oh, of course. You want to see him?"

"Yes. Yes we do." Maven positions the phone so I could see without having to endanger us both. The camera pans to Dennis, who quite frankly looks limp and unconscious, a pit formed in my stomach as I studied the interior of where he looked to be, is that a car?
