Chapter 11

Bruce's POV
I woke up and got ready for work. I'm very happy right now since my soulmate finally told me goodnight for once. Normally they are asleep when I tell them that. I got to my office and sat down with a sigh. Clark had mentioned to me that his mark glowed when he met the French class and the chaperones. It only glowed brighter when he was near the man with black hair and violet eyes. I think he is Emylee Lamb's friend Travis McKoy. My mark glows whenever Emylee is near me. It could just be a coincidence, but my mark glowed last night when Night Fury was standing near me. My son's mark was glowing when the bluenette heroine was standing next to Night Fury. I plan on going later tonight after patrol to see Emylee again. Work went by pretty slow and I went home later than I wanted. I got changed and went out on patrol as soon as possible. On my patrol route I once again spot Firefly and Night Fury. I go over to them trying to not be noticed. "I know you are there Batman." Night Fury says. "Why are you here?" Firefly asks narrowing his eyes. "I need to ask you something Night Fury." I say. "And that would be?" She asks. "Who are you under the mask? My soulmate mark keeps glowing whenever you are around, but also when Emylee is around me." I say. "You know I can't answer that. Use your brain detective. You've already answered it in a way." She says. "Hey, we need to go. I just got an sos signal from Marinette." Firefly says. "What happened?" Night Fury asks. "I'm pretty sure Rossi went against our rules and went out dragging all of the class even Miss Bustier." He says. Night Fury sighs and they both leave. I decide to follow with Robin who had just showed up. They apprehended the villains that took the class and left with the class. I stayed to make sure the villains went back to Arkham. Once that was over I left for the hotel to check up on Emylee since I didn't see her with the class. I tap on her window/door and she lets me in. I can see the eye bags growing darker and stare in concern for a bit before going stoic. "Are you alright miss Lamb?" I ask. "Yes, I'm fine Batman." She says before yawning. "Did I wake you up?" I ask. "No, I've never had the greatest time going to sleep since I was 13." Emylee says. I hmm and pull her into a hug. We continue to talk until her voice grows quieter and her breathing a little shallower. I pick her up and take her to her bed placing her in before leaving for my home. Once I got there I see Black Arrow, Purple Arrow, and Blue Arrow starting at me with smug expressions. "Aww~ Is little Brucie becoming a softy now?" Blue asks mockingly. "No." I say gruffly. "I bet he wishes she was still in his arms. And this is only for knowing her for a few days now." Arrow says. "Must be, but he is growing a little too attached to her. I would hate to see what he would do for her if the villains ever took her." Purple says. "Enough you three. Nothing is happening. She is your cousin and I'm just making sure she is okay." I say. "Yeah, about that we know you suspect her of being your soulmate. Bruce when are you going to talk to her as not Batman again?" Purple says. "Not anytime soon. I find it easier to talk to her like this, and I can gain more information about the Paris villains like this than as Bruce." I say. "But you've never tried. Just tell her that you over heard Blue and I talking about it if she asks." Purple says. I sigh and ignore them going to my room. I change for bed and go to sleep without telling my soulmate good night.

~The next morning~

I woke up and got changed for work. I have a few meetings today. When I got their Lucius Fox mentioned that one of the meetings is with the CEO's of Dream On. I looked over at the schedule to see that they are the first ones to be scheduled after my meeting with my company's leadership team. That meeting went by without any issues. An hour later and the meeting with the CEOs of Dream On happens. "Hello again Bruce." Emlyee says as Travis also says hello. "Hello Travis and Emylee. So, why the sudden meeting?" I ask. "We would like to set up a little contract with your company as we would like to set up some stores here in the States." Travis says. "We're planning on moving once everything is finished to be closer to our soulmates and family." Emylee says. The moment she says soulmates, I feel like my heart stopped before beating again as I hope it's me. The meeting went very smoothly and we were able to form a contract between our companies. "Would you two like to grab lunch with me? I know of a great restaurant nearby." I say. "Of course!" Emylee says with a smile. I smile back and lead them to the restaurant. We are immediately sat in a booth at the back of the restaurant. "So, I have a question." I say. "We may or may not have an answer. What is your question Bruce?" Emylee says nonchalantly. "Why do you want to move here? I know you said it's for your family and soulmates, but why?" I ask. "Paris holds too many memories of pain and sorrow for me. I want to get away from that. Plus their isn't really a reason for us to stay there anyway. Not when my soulmate lives in Gotham City with my cousins. My cousin from my mom's side lost his memories and won't get them back anytime soon." Emylee says looking down with saddened eyes. "Emylee please tell Marinette soon. He was her mentor before the accident." Travis says grabbing her hand. I frown at that and glare at their hands. "No need to be jealous man. Clark is my soulmate anyway." He says. I choke on the water I had just taken a sip of. "I won't pry and you can tell me what happened to him on your own time. But are you sure Clark is your soulmate?" I say. "Yes, I found out yesterday when we were at the Daily Planet. Plus Emylee kept telling me it would be him way before we met yesterday." He says. I nod and turn to Emylee. "What about you? Do you know who your soulmate is?" I ask. "Yes, I do. I've known for awhile now." She says. "I'm curious. Who is it?" I ask. "Batman, why Mr Wayne? Hoping it was you?" She asks with a tiny smirk. What's with her smirk? "Bruce?" Travis asks. "Ah, yes sorry. Got lost in though for a second. And what if I did?" I say with my own smirk. She takes a quick glance at my soulmate mark and chuckles. "Seems we found each other quicker than I was expecting B." Emylee says. "Huh?" Travis and I ask. "Forget I said that for right now. What else did you want to ask us?" She says. "What's been going on in Paris?" I ask. Emylee and Travis explain everything from the beginning of the attacks to the team and everything else. They also explained the attacks that happened in Germany many years ago. "Marinette is also getting bullied by Lila Rossi. We would like your help in exposing Miss Rossi. She has lied about every celebrity she can think of. That includes you and us. Her recent one is that Damian Wayne is dating her and that they grew up together at your manor. Which isn't true because he didn't come to live with you until he was ten years old. Talia raised him in Tibet." Emylee says. "She's also been lying about being best buddies with us, and the band members of Miracle World." Travis says. "Is she why my son had bruises and other wounds?" I ask. "Yes, I believe you know that your son and Marinette are soulmates then?" Emylee asks. I nod and she explains further about the bullying and how it began. "I'll help you expose her. I'll even help sue her." I say. I watch as they both grin with a twinkle in their eyes. "Excellent! I'll send you the link to the blog where everything she's said is on." Emylee says. I nod and watch them go after paying for their meals. I pay for mine and leave for work once more. I hear my phone ding and pull it out to see Emylee had already sent the link to me. I go through the blog and glare at it in disgust. They are fools for even believing in these! I know, we've warned them that she lied to them. But it caused them to shut Marinette out. They don't associate with those who are friends with her. They still act like she'll give them free things, and that we'll help them with anything they ask. And Adrien is about to crash from lack of sleep. I have to go. I sigh shaking my head and chuckle slightly. My soulmate can be very cute when she doesn't try to be cute.

I went home after a long day at work before eating dinner. Then went to change for patrol. This time I didn't stop at Emylee's hotel room and went straight back to the Batcave. I went to my room after changing back into my business suit. Changed into my pajamas and got into bed going to sleep.
